About your host

While in high school I fell in love with photography. I have always been an adventurer, so when photography came into my life, I started melding the two together. After graduating college with a BA in Art/photography I knew that I had found my passion and what I was naturally good at. Since 2005, I have been the owner and principle photographer for Kain's Photography. I have searched high and low…

What we’ll do

When I'm in a new location I like to know what the locals do. As a local to the Ithaca area, I want to show you some of my favorite waterfall spots that may not be the first that come to mind. First we will meet at my favorite coffee shop and spend some time over a tasty beverage and get to know each other. During this time I will talk about some of the basics of photography including camera use…

What else you should know

There will be walking. Come prepared. Do not bring so many things that you get weighed down and not able to move easily. Comfortable shoes are a must. And an excitement to see beautiful scenery.

What I’ll provide

Snacks
A selection of snacks good for short hikes
Coffee, Tea and Water
Coffee/Tea at one of my favorite coffee shops

What to bring

Camera
Bag/backpack
Batteries
Walking/Hiking Shoes
Clothing appropriate for outdoor weather

Where you'll be

We will visit 2-3 of my all time favorite waterfall/gorge spots: Ithaca Falls, Cascadilla Gorge, and Mulholland Wildflower Preserve. Each spot is unique in itself, and are must see places while in Ithaca. These 3 places are usually not on the top of the list for visitors, but as a local, I know that these are some of the most beautiful spots in Ithaca.
