What you'll do

Pleasant Bay and Muddy Creek in Chatham are wonderful places to explore, and kayaks just happen to be the best way to do it! Muddy Creek is actually a tidal river that flows out of Pleasant Bay. Wildlife abounds from osprey, hawks, kingfishers, blue herons and egrets. This 3-hour trip includes one kayak per person, paddles and life jackets. We will meet at my house just 2 miles away and and drive in my SUV with the kayaks, since parking is limited and a town beach permit is required. During the trip you can kayak around Pleasant Bay depending on the tides and how windy and rough the water is, or just into Muddy Creek. Each person should bring bathing suit, water shoes, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and drinking water (preferably no single use disposable plastic bottles ;-). A dry pack of some kind also comes in very handy and some kind of plastic protection/lanyard for your cell phone and camera. After the trip, you will be picked up and returned to your car.
