What you'll do

Want to see a side to London that will give you goosebumps? The REAL London... a city of serial killers, murder, disease, and crime, buried in dusty textbooks but rarely spoken about? Then forget about your trip to the Tower of London or your Jack the Ripper tour. What you need is London's Gruesome History.

*NEW for Winter - groups of four or more get 20% off*

Our tour begins at the world-famous London Bridge, a site of cold-blooded murder and humiliation for London's executed criminals. Led by your fearless guide you will experience the blood-curdling history behind London's iconic landmarks The Tower of London, The Monument, and North Bank. Then, if you are feeling brave, we will head into the back streets of east London to uncover the tales of murder and disease that lie in wait for you between Aldgate and Whitechapel.

On this tour, you won't just hear about Jack the Ripper, the Plague, the Great Fire of London, and the brutal treatment of London's criminals (which we all want to hear about of course), but also lesser known killers, the great smog, the London Beer Flood, the Kray twins, Phosey Jaw, and the famous Gunpowder Plot. Our tales will disturb, horrify and crack your sides with laughter.

Our inclusive, small tour sizes (groups limited to 10 people) provide the perfect experience for history fans, groups and families exploring London this Winter!

Where you'll be

No gruesome history tour is complete without a visit to London Bridge, The Monument, the Tower of London. But to really discover London's grisly past, you need to get off the beaten track and into London's shadowy corners and dimly-lit backstreets. From the City of London to Aldgate and Whietchapel, we will visit mass graves, murder scenes, haunted pubs, and little-known sites so creepy they'll make you shiver.

It was a freezing night. Dominic (our guide) did an amazing job keeping us engaged and entertained during the whole tour. Great storyteller and attentive to the group. Would recommend.

I was looking forward to this based on the reviews, but unfortunately no one showed up to lead the tour. It was disappointing to have the tour cancelled without warning. The host only got in touch with me well after the tour was supposed to begin to say they couldn't reach the guide. I did receive a refund, but I still lost an evening where I could've made other plans.
