What you'll do

1. Guests will be met/picked up at Maboneng Precinct and walk to Victoria Yards - in Bertrams with an option to get a bicycle 2. Guests will cycle/walk trough 4 of the Makers Hubs in the Makers Valley 3. At each Hub, guests will get to meet local makers, engage with the local community and choose to participate in any of the following curated immersions (45 minutes workshops). The immersions options include: Urban Farming/Aggro-processing Workshop, Art & Crafts Workshop, Collective Clean-up and Site installation (street performance/art/flash mob with local youth) 4. Guests will be treated to a locally made meal 5. Guests can choose to cycle or to get transport to take them back to Air BnB residence

I am a Creative Entrepreneur and Founder of Makers Valley Collective. Makers Valley Collective (MVC) is a non-profit company developed by a collective of makers, working together to help create better access to maker-spaces for skilled makers and creative entrepreneurs existing in various parts in Joburg. We host guided tours and curated immersions, offer Skills Development and exchange platforms - for youth in particular, and we develop creative-spaces which offer access to networks, information, resources and opportunities for skilled makers and creative entrepreneurs. Cancellation policy

Any experience can be cancelled and fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase, or at least 7 days before the experience starts.

Communication policy

Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside the Airbnb website or app.

Guest requirements

Up to 10 guests ages 18 and up can attend. Parents may also bring children under 2 years of age.

Government ID

You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.

More tips

Every walkabout will have experienced tour guides and security personal throughout the journey. Local police forums and public security are aware of the walkabouts and are visible during the walkabout.
