Let my years of experience guide you on this adventure together.

Hi, my name is John, I am an outdoor enthusiast, and proud owner of an adventure-based company called Rocky Mountain Backpacking-an outdoor adventure company that offers guided day hikes in the natural areas that surround Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico, as well as multi-day trips throughout the four corner states. Also, we work directly with the forest service and are fully permitted to operate on this trail system.

John was excellent as a solo traveler I felt safe and well guided on the hike. John was responsive, personable and easy going. Would definitely recommend his hikes and hope to join on another in the future!

This was a terrific experience for us. Communication with John was prompt and easy. He clearly has a lot of experience. Not only does he know the area well, but he also sized up our needs and skill level accurately and quickly. He is also a good conversationalist. Highly recommended!

Oh man...this was way beyond expectations. John and I are friends for life - even if we never see each other again, we will always remain close. John has such a deep connection and love of nature - and equally loves showing others how to find that same connection. We connected deeply on all things nature, spirituality, human relations, well-being, and so on. Such a nice, grounded, humble, open and kind person. Even on our trek, we ran into other hikers who know John ("Johnny", they called him) - they were so happy to run into him, and John immediately introduced me and made me feel part of the Santa Fe trekking community. Ahhh...and we were coming down the mountain (Atalaya) as the sun was setting...it was...perfect. I intend to head out west for some more intense hiking with John, and I hope you get the chance to enjoy a hike with him as well.
