What you'll do
The idea behind his experience is to unite the most visited spots at Downtown Rio with the historical knowledge about the city. After this day everyone will be able to call themselves a native from Rio, a carioca. We start at the downtown hub at "Largo da Carioca" Square (Carioca Station), then walk to places like the Municipal Theatre, Fifteen Square (Praça XV Station) and Olympic Boulevard. We learn some colonial history from churchs like San Franscisco Convent, San Jose Church, Candelária and San Bento Church. Then we go the to luxurious museums built by the time Rio was a Imperial Capity from Portugal. Places like the National Library, Fine Arts Museum and the Fifteen Square reveal the european influence at the architectural and cultural of the city. Did you know the Rio's Municipal Theatre ins inspired by the French Paris Opera? At the Twenth Century the city made several changes at their streets, its the time major avenues is built and many changes like a tram system, them later a subway system came to Rio. At this point in history, we will visit the National Bank Cultural Center that is the most important museum at the city. The tour comes to a end by visiting the most recent place at the city, the Olympic Boulevard where we can see the Tomorrow Museum located at a beautiful pier where we can see the Guanabara Bay.
