What you'll do

We will start out with an introduction to boating safety, progress to docking and casting off from the dock and then off we go for a three or four hour sail in The Strait of Juan de Fuca or the Sooke Basin if there's too much wind in the Strait. You can participate and learn as much as you want in the sailing. We often see whales, sea lions, seals and sea otters while we are out there. You can bring snacks or we can have them catered by Road to Sooke Cafe at an extra cost.

Gord

I am the Owner and Chief Sailing Instructor at Starlight Sailing Adventures in Sooke BC Canada. Located on the beautiful west coast of Vancouver Island. I am certified by Sail Canada to teach Basic Cruising Standard, Introduction to Sailing and Marine Radio Certification. We have a 1983 Aloha 32 Masthead Sloop Sailboat, designed to go from here to Hawaii. I have sailed all over the Salish Sea and Southern Gulf Islands and know many great spots to explore. I grew up in Quebec, moved to Alberta at age 17 and began riding and training horses. Eventually I started doing horse packing trips in the Alberta Rocky Mountains for fun. Now I am in Sooke BC and loving sailing and teaching others to love sailing in a beautiful location surrounded by sea lions and whales.

Often there are Orcas, Humpback and Gray whales out there. We normally see Sea Lions, Seals, Jellyfish and Otters.
