What you'll do
Using a traditional Irish Open Boat, we'll take a trip through the city of Kilkenny on the river Nore. We'll see the city as both Invaders and settlers did, from the water. We'll past the various abbeys, cathedrals and castle for which kilkenny is famous. Taking in weirs and bridges, we'll also with Ness much of the wildlife that not only survive in the urban environment, but trive. These include Herons, Kingfishers, Swans, Otters and Trout to name only a very few. While the objective is to provide an interesting and unique perspective of the city and it's heritage, it should also leave you feeling completely relaxed and revived. Gliding along inches above the waterline, it's the perfect opportunity to switch off the phone and experience life as it was for the river folk of a bygone era.
I've spent my entire life on the rivers and canals of Ireland. I love introducing people to the Waterways, from many different perspectives. My qualifications and experience covers history, heritage, wildlife, boating, watersports and all things river/water connected. I've an inland skippers licence with a background in tour guiding and an instructor invarious watersports. I'm passionate about nature and the environment, local history and the many untold stories that areas often pocess.
