What you'll do
Together we will prepare our dinner in my house which is located in a neighborhood full of shops of all kinds and, before starting, we will go to a delicatessen to buy some ingredients together. You will be in contact with the local people, with the Romans who go shopping exchanging a few words even if they do not know each other, which is one of the things I love most about my city. You will learn to cook pasta Amatriciana, an important dish of roman tradition of peasant origin and a symbol of roman cuisine in the world. We will also cook the "Saltimbocca alla Romana", one of the second most appreciated dishes by the Romans, based on slices veal, raw ham and sage. You will have fun and you will see that it will not be difficult to cook it even for those who are not very adept at cooking. Our dinner also includes a taste of some top quality local cheeses and salami that never fail on my table. Obviously an Italian meal cannot end without a dessert I'll make for you.

Hi, I'm Paola, I was born and raised in Rome where I work to promote the knowledge of some of the most beautiful villages in our country. The passion for cooking began when I was a little girl helping my mother and taking the secrets of family recipes from her. I organize dinners for my friends and family because there is nothing better than to see happy people after eating one of your dishes. I like to cook especially pasta and Italian cuisine offers all kinds of possibilities: with sauce, vegetables, fish, but what a Roman must know is how to cook pasta Amatriciana, a recipe of peasant origin that is very simple but must be performed according to precise rules. Before cooking I will take you to one of the best gourmet shops near my home.
Where you'll be
My apartment is located in a neighborhood full of services and shops, connected to the metro A line. In just ten minutes by bus you can reach the Via Appia Antica, and in a few minutes on foot you reach the magnificent Parco della Caffarella, a huge valley populated by the remains of villas and tombs from the Roman era.
