What you'll do

We’ll begin our landscape and wildlife adventure when I pick you up at our meeting place in Waikiki. On the East side the sun will be up so that we can photograph the beautiful blues of the sky where it meets the ocean and the rugged lava rock of the Ko'olau mountain range. I’ll show you how to enhance the color saturation and the details for a compelling photograph. Whether you use a DSLR or a mobile phone you’ll learn the tricks of a professional photographer.
This is an all day around the island excursion where we will visit a variety of vistas, beaches, mountain valleys and areas where the endemic seabirds, Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle and the Hawaiian Monk seal can be viewed, studied and photographed.
As we make our way to the North Shore you’ll learn about the best compositions for Hawaii’s wildlife and its every-changing geology. We stop for lunch on the North Shore for some delicious local food. After lunch we'll go to several beaches where the turtles and monk seals make their way out to bask on the sand providing good opportunities for photographs.
At the end of the day you’ll have an understanding of what makes our Hawaiian landscape and wildlife unique with the photographs to share with friends.
Other things to note

Aloha. I'm owner of Blue Hawaii Photo Tours. I've been leading small groups of guests around the island to scenic locations and teaching photography for over 6 years. Last year I exhibited my landscape and wildlife photographs at a local gallery. I have a passion for Hawaiian history, culture, geology and wildlife. As a volunteer for Malama na Honu - Care for the Turtle - our mission is to monitor turtles, educate the public and protect the Hawaiian Green Sea turtle in the spirit of Aloha.
My photography work revolves around Hawaiian wildlife - it's birds, the Hawaiian Green Sea turtle and Monk Seals. My other photography love is the dramatic Hawaiian sunrises and sunsets. Let me teach you how to capture stunning images of the island and its wildlife.
