What you'll do

We will start our experience downtown Porto, at Capela das Almas near Bolhão Metro Station. From there we will take some detours from the normal touristic paths, going direction the medieval part of town, often a forgotten site. We will guide you through the most cinematic corners of the city, because that is the intention, to see my city through my artistic point of view. At Largo da Pena Ventosa, near the birth of the city we will make a stop and I will introduce you to the art of filmaking. You will also be able to mount an try a professional Bimbal and learn some shooting technics. It is as well a perfect spot for a coffee / snack break. Next move is through the narrow streets that will bring us to ribeira, the most touristic part of town, but here we will have the chance to know the back streets, a path that only few tourists take. We will cross then through D. Luis bridge and reach Gaia. There we will have the best views to Porto, and we will have the chance to do some more wide shots of the old city. Through some hidden patch, we will reach the top of the bridge and comeback with a stunning view over the Douro River. Then is time to stop again and enjoy some of the best pasteis de nata and some delicous coffee. We will discuss some details of post-production and decide the vibe for the final video. Slowly we will move back to where we started.

I am the founder of Camera With No Name, and as a videographer I have been working actively with clients all over the world, including Japan, Australia, Malaysya, Vietnam, Germany, Portugal and Spain. My clients are well known in Portugal and some worldwide, including projects involving the car company Tesla and EV Tours, BB Gourmet, QSP Summit and many others. I was cameraman, cinematographer, editor and sound designer for the Cannes Festival short "I Am Always Here" shot in Iceland in 2017. I have been hosting several people and doing private tours in my city, showing the most cinematic corners of Porto, tasting some of the best food and making unforgettable vídeos of the whole experience. As for equipment, we will use professional equipment including a C series documentary Canon Camera, professional lenses, microfones and a gimbal.

Where you'll be

I will conduct my tour and video class through the most cinematic streets of Porto. We will enter an old bank now converted into a Hotel that kept the safe open for us and full of fake money to be stolen! We will climb a rooftop and enjoy a secret view, we will feel the place where Porto was born and discover some street art hidden behind the port cellars. It is a magical ride!

More tips

This is a very unique experience where you will have the chance to see the old city through the eyes of a local videographer. The learning process is pretty simple and covers all the basics that a beginner and an enthusiast needs to shoot their own vídeos.
