What you'll do

We will explore and draw inspiration from the city’s greatest art museums: San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, or De Young Museum, or Legion of Honer. You will be guided through the abstract expressionist exhibition. I will encourage you to think about what the pieces mean to you and take note of any that speak to you especially clearly.

After the museum, we will head to a nearby café or the park - weather permitting - to paint on a canvas with impressions from the exhibition. Here you will set about recreating your favorite work seen that day, reimagining the themes and techniques according to your own style and preferences. This experience is not a museum tour but focus working on abstract paintings and how they help you express your inner feelings through making visual art.

(Meeting location depends on the special exhibition take place in these 3 museums. You can also request which museum you like to visit.)

Note: Masks required, social distancing will be practiced. Thank you.
Other things to note
Please be on time. There is only 3 hours to share my 30 years life of creating art. Please wear warm cloths and comfortable shoes to play with colors outdoor. Bring your open mind.

I’m an artist and 10-year resident of San Francisco. I studied visual art at South China Normal University and Sonoma State University. My work is a dynamic encounter with nature, perception and the many challenges that lead us towards a place of insight and learning. My more recent work explores meditative states and healing arts. I paint as I live - with the intention of showing that life is about realizing possibilities.

Jun Jun's art experience is a wonderful opportunity to walk with dear friends in the lovely galleries of SFMoMA, then carry inspiration of color and line to a welcoming open canvas. This year, more than ever, a moment of creative expression brings calming presence to life ~ such a beautiful way to share an Autumn afternoon in the City!

I am not an artist myself, I'm a software engineer. But I appreciate art and like to draw. With Jun Jun's experience I felt like touching something magical, being a storyteller of my own, getting familiar with operating in the world of shapes and colors (+ moods and emotions!). With Jun Jun’s thoughtful prompts I learnt to see more in the abstract art galleries of SF MOMA. And not only to see! Drawing together afterwards was a treat and I came back home with my own abstract art piece. A very special weekend afternoon!

I liked about this experience with June, that she is so openminded and flexibel. She is full of ideas and very spontaneous about making to fit the concept for the situation of the day and the group. I liked very much her way of giving us small tasks to solve at the exhibition, to introduce us in this kind of working and being creative ourselves. She is very much able to let our inner child get to play while painting. I am thankfull to take this memory (the memory of being together AND my painting) back home to Switzerland!
