What you'll do

We will take a Dolderbahn to Zürichberg, our local mountain. There will will walk to a quiet place where we will set an intention for our day. We will then do a 15 min guided breath work (pranayama) to focus our energy within and to balance the yin and the yan (the male and the female within us). I will then introduce you to a 15 min meditation focusing on the breath. Once your mind is calm and clear, we will start our silent walk. The point of the silence is so that with your clear and decluttered mind you will be able to see/hear/smell little details of the nature. You can of course talk and ask questions if you feel it is necessary. We will walk a 1.5 h loop on top of Zurichberg, enjoying the panoramic vistas, secluded pathways, hidden small nature protected lakes and picnic locations before coming back to the tram stop. I encourage you to keep this state of mind for the rest of your day.

My name is Alexandra and for the past 5 years I have been residing in Zurich. I left scientific research in academia to open a small business specialising in education. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and educating young generation. Quitting a flexible job gives me enough time to pursue my main hobbies: hiking and yoga. I am a certified yoga teacher with a strong belief that breath work (pranayama) and meditation can not only influence our emotions but also our physical state. As for the hiking, I have done a number of multiple day treks, both in Switzerland and abroad, and have summited few famous peaks. In our competitive and busy world there is nothing more beneficial than getting to know the "real" you, from the inside. I believe the best tools for that are close contact with nature and mindful living.

Where you'll be

We will do our breath work and meditation on the wooden bench by the small pond. There are hardly any people there so we can enjoy the silence. Then on our silent walk we will admire panoramic view on lake Zurich from the wooden tower which extends above the tree line, pass by various picnic spots and beautifully designed water fountains. We will follow the pathways with the least amount of people to make sure we are not disturbed in the nature.
