What you'll do

On this route we will explore 2 different parks in the center of Athens, see the historic sites inside of them and talk about their history. Also we will see the different sites around them. This two parks were the heart of the Roman settlement and Olympic soul. First we will visit a park loved and known mostly by locals. It has a panoramic view on Athens and the Panathinaic stadium, in this park one can see the ruins of the Roman temple of goddess Luck. Later on we will talk about the history of the Panathinaic stadium, the stadium where the first modern Olympics held, that is located right underneath it. The second park that we will visit is: the National Park of Athens and we will explore the Roman ruins and mosaics that are hidden all over the park. Also visit the Zappeio building(an old agricultural exbition center), Roman baths, Andrianos ark, Lord Byron (poet) statue. We will finish our tour by the statue of Alexander the Great and I will give you any suggestions you want on what to see in Athens, catered to your liking and interests.

Eleftheria

I was born in Athens together with the third century. I am a student of Middle East studies department (The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) . Our family is successfully hosting Airbnb guests on our own property for several years. The centre of Athens is my Big Home, I love it and I love to share my knowledge, gained through the years of exploring every cotner if it, studying ancient Greek and Greek history, recapitulating old rare and latest books and documents. I am happy if I can make you feel Athens more yours , remember your trip here, make you dream about coming back. The dog s' name is Kouza, she is a former stray dog and that is why she adores walks and meeting new people. She is extremely friendly and you will fall in love with her immediately.
