Come on! The red gate of the family rest area is open for you here! － The Relaxation Center is located in Huangpu New Village, Fengshan District, Kaohsiung City. It is a symbol of Taiwan's first generation of family villages and a unique cultural settlement in Taiwan. It was originally a military family building during the Japanese rule. After the Nationalist Government took over Taiwan, it was occupied by the families of the National Army. Therefore, it has a special building scene after the integration of traditional Japanese architecture and Chinese life, which is also one of the unique characteristics of the family villages in Taiwan. In 2013, the Kaohsiung City Government registered the cultural landscape and in 2018, the "Living for Conservation: Homestay in the Military Family Village" program was launched, which also gave us the opportunity to invite more people to stay in this historic building. We chose to reshape the cultural form and improve the functional structure in a new and old communion without destroying the original old house structure.
