Woodpecker Bay Bach is a rustic, cosy, New Zealand bach. If you want to escape the rat race... this is the place for you! Woodpecker Bay Bach is often fully booked - if your dates are not available - be sure to see my other oceanfront properties... Waihaha Bach, Te Tutu Bach and Waituhi at Whitehorse Bay :-)
“I can't recommend woodpecker bay batch enough! Daniel the host is superman always on the ball and will make your stay absolutely unforgettable if this is not on your bucket list It should be! this is the kind of place that you tell your kids about it has a special charm a wild freshness that can't be beaten, surrounded by bush, pristine rivers, and an untameable sea. The bush surrounding the property is thick and lush, its temperate New Zealand rainforest filled with punga, woodhen, fantail, nikau palm trees, and many other things that will bring out your inner wild heart. The batch is rustic and charming filled with all the wonderful old New Zealand kicks and knacks right down to the bone handle cutlery. Cooking facilities are fantastic, 4 hob gas burner and full-size oven, full-size fridge/freezer. The hot water is gas and the pressure is off the charts best showers ever! the bath is cast iron clawfoot and looks out over the rugged seas and captivating night sky, candles and a bottle of wine you will be entertained for hours! The stereo if fantastic peered with the acoustics of the wooden batch and its pitched roof will have you boogying all night long. When you are wanting to relax there are multiple perches and some great books in the swappa book collection. The toilet haha yes that toilet is spectacular! a throne fit for a king and a view to match ;). If you time it right there is a little roadside store you will see a sign-out and it is 1min drive south you pull in left and it's in a little wooden shack (its and honesty payment system so bring some change) they have some fantastic pickles and the freshest eggs perfect for poaching, eggs benedict for breakfast yum! There is so much more in store for you here so get your behind moving and live a little, you won't regret it I promise! if you're a kiwi and thinking about it, don't think just do it we have this amazing place in our backyard come see it for yourself! there are not many places left like this in the world! and on that note make sure you look after the batch, animals and the environment so many more generations get to enjoy the same fantastic experience! keep up the great work Daniel you're the man!”
This stunning beach front 'studio style shack' is nestled amongst the famous native forest of the West Coast. It has everything you need, so your stay in paradise feels very homely. The end of the earth has never been so beautiful
“The perfect off grid getaway to switch off and relax. Lose yourself in the sound of the waves and the crackling firewood by night. The location is spectacular and the shack itself has all the necessities. Make sure you pick up supplies in Westport or Greymouth. There’s a gas bbq and stove but no nearby shops. If, like us, you forget to do this, you can buy wine, beer and get takeaway meals from the hotel 10mins down the road in Punakaki!”
Nestled perfectly at the waters edge of theTasman sea, with direct access to the beach is my rustic bach.. Snuggle warmly inside by the coal range with a book, or be mesmerised by the power of the ocean waves pounding a few meters from the deck. Enjoy plunger coffee on the house or bring your own NZ wine. Memories are made here.. With stunning views from both inside and out, you can indulge in the magic of West Coast sunsets, dolphins swimming past on a calm day and penguins nesting nearby.
“It's obvious that Murray gave every little touch in this place with much love. We love it to bits! Unlimited WiFi in the middle of nowhere is totally appreciated. The quality pots & pans, plates & cutlery, lovely grounded coffee with decent size of plunger for 4 of us. Proper gas stove and electronic oven. Decent shower and good quality fittings, even a shower dome to avoid condensation! Bugs screen on all windows are much appreciated! Decent information of how to get there via message, book with complete guide, including picture on how to operate the heating.. friendly, laid back & unobtrusive communication. Murray's place and his hospitality exceed our expectations! We would definitely love to come back again, thanks for sharing this lovely place with us! Warm regards, Tina & Andrew, Dessi & Victor”
