Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. We invite you to come...... and experience country life.

Dana's Retreat-glamping/camping @ a WildlifeRescue

Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. Located at 2nd Hand Ranch & Rescue, this tiny house in the timber was built to share the beauty of nature with folks that want to camp.... but not really camp. This 12x12 house is off grid with a cute outhouse nestled in the timber behind the wildlife rescue. Relax and unplug for the weekend and know 100% of the fee goes to the animal rescue. We bring your supplies up via Gator as you hike the trail up. PLEASE NOTE: NO RUNNING WATER/SHOWERS

The loft has a bedroom, separate shower and toilet spaces, work area, sitting room, kitchen space, and heating/cooling fresh air system. Located above our farm store, the loft provides privacy for you while giving you access to fresh fruits & veggies, locally sourced meats, homemade soups & salads from our farm kitchen, and so much more. You can also walk our farm trails, visit the veggies, or enjoy a campfire.

Cool quiet country cabin on boulders and 120 acres

Funky, tidy 23 year old country cabin on 120 acres of farmland & woods in a private, quiet rural setting. It's cozy, 950 sq ft, built with stone and wood. Open concept with a two story fireplace, porch fireplace, firepit, and open loft for sleeping (1 bed), with spiral stairs, lots of windows, walnut floors and trim, oak beams and pine kitchen tops. Shower is big and open, with doors opening to a back deck for outdoor showering. Beautiful covered porch overlooking rolling meadows and woods.

YurtCation

YurtCation is a relaxing getaway with lake frontage and nature trails. There is another yurt about 300ft up the same driveway. There are a total of two yurts and two homes that have access to the same 17 acre lake. Each yurt is off the grid and has their own queen-sized comfy bed, wood stove, Weber grill w/charcoal, fire pit, firewood, fresh water, canoe, and clean Porto Potty. Pet Policy: Max two - Must be in your sight and supervised at all times or $500 fine and check out immediately.

The Little House at Tryon Farm

The little house is located within a 170-acre modern farm community filled with open meadows, woods and dunes. Minutes to beach, 1 hour to Chicago. Relax and enjoy the property or head out to explore the lakeshore, wineries, and great area restaurants! Unfortunately we can't accommodate same day bookings as we don't have enough lead time to prep the cabin for your stay. Glamping on a working Christmas tree farm. Beautiful single room stone cabin with loft and wood burning stove. Two small beds in loft and futon on main floor folds out into full bed. Lots of room around to pitch tents as well. Situated on 40 acres of land with a pond, barn with basketball court, creek and Christmas tree fields.
