We start in beautiful Columbia Square, wind our way through the Factor's Walks down by the river, pausing briefly for guests who would like refreshing drinks a haunted bar (alcohol only served to guests 21+ years old), then we come back to the old execution grounds. Other things to note This tour is somewhat physically demanding even though we walk at a relaxed pace. The route is around 1.5 miles. We walk on cobblestones as well as historic public stairs made of uneven stone, not for the faint of heart. Not wheelchair accessible and challenging for those with mobility issues.

We require hand washing upon entry, and you will be asked to wear a mask until local guidelines allow. We'll introduce ourselves and we will give you a tour of our professional studio and kiln area to have an insider's view of how pottery is made. Your instructor is an Atlanta ceramic artist, our studio is an incubator for those launching careers as artists selling their work. We'll have a short demonstration then an artist will guide you to make pots of your own. You will make 2-3 pots over the course of the next hour+ then you will get to select your own glaze colors for us to finish and fire your work. Unlike other experiences - there are no extra fees for extra pots! Great for groups or couples. Since pottery takes several weeks to dry, then proceeds with two firings - pottery that you make during your event will be ready in about 6 weeks. Local pick-up is free. We can give an estimate for US shipping rates while you are here, international deliveries will require more exacting details for shipping rates and will require a follow-up email and/or invoice. Average US shipping is between $15 and $20. Your instructor will be in touch when your pottery is complete. This experience is kid-friendly for ages 8+ but we do ask that you are booking in the morning slot if you have kids. No bookings will be accepted for kids with no adults present. Thank you!

The tour begins meeting Johnny, a descendant of local enslaved ancestors & lifelong resident of the area at the oldest standing structure in DeKalb County, the historic Lyon's House site. Here you tour the grounds, experience the living area of slaves, & listen to rich stories passed down through generations. You gain an understanding of what it was like for families to live on small Southern Farms before the Civil War. You will also enjoy the best scenic views of Panola Mtn that only a local would know. Next drive along a paved two-lane road to the start of an old stagecoach road, now a trail. Continue the trail for .25 miles as you get an understanding of Flat Rock. Then you turn a corner and enter a wooded area dotted with gravestones. This is the Flat Rock Historic Cemetery with at least 202 interred individuals, many simple unidentified gravestones. We usually do not visit the cemetery in summer because this area has ticks & overgrown with ivy. Please communicate beforehand that you want to visit the cemetery if it is summer as you will have to make sure to dress appropriately-pants, long socks, tennis shoes. Some interred were born enslaved & freed after the Civil War. We will also visit the site of the first AA Methodist church site of the Flat Rock Community. And we will end the tour at the Flat Rock Archive. This is a small museum highlighting local AA history.

No need to lift a finger, we come to your AirBnB! All guests will be provided with a 16" x 20" canvas, paints, brushes, and an apron. The instructor will guide you through the art of painting and place of "ESCAPE" template. While everyone paints the same painting, every eye catches a different light! We encourage you to make the painting your own! Don't forget your snacks and favorite beverage. We provide complimentary champagne, however, food and drinks are NOT provided. The usage of drugs around Escape & Paint personnel is prohibited. Escape & Paint has the right to cancel a party if this occurs. Private classes are typically 4 hours, including set-up and tear-down. Below is a breakdown of the class structure. The same structure applies to the 12pm - 4pm experience. 6pm - 7pm: Arrival at your Airbnb for set-up 7pm - 9pm: Escape & Paint experience begins 9pm - 10pm: - Tear down and departure Bookings are made per person. Materials will be provided for the number of people you book and pay for in advance. All additional guests present at the time of the event but who have not paid in advance will be charged before the experience begins. Please be mindful, there is a 5% service fee per extra person added to the cost per person. Upon booking, guests will be contacted to receive the address of their AirBNB.

There is so much to see in Atlanta so I will take all the must see locations and put them into a 5 hour tour. Prior to our first stop you will see the famous Jackson St Bridge which is infamous from "The Walking Dead." The first stop will be a guided tour at the Martin Luther King Historical Memorial Site for 45 minutes. You will visit the tomb of Dr. and Mrs. King, The Eternal Flame, Freedom Hall, Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church and you will see Dr. Kings birth home. Next you will visit Krog St Market and then take a glimpse of the future of Atlanta by walking on the Atlanta Beltline. Be prepared to take lots of photos on the Beltline. After walking the Beltline you will see Inman Park and Little 5 Points, Atlanta’s hippest neighborhood. Then you will visit Ponce City Market and then have lunch at the CNN Center. Afterwards you will see the homes of the rich and famous in Buckhead. Learn about the famous people living in Buckhead that you will only find on this tour. After leaving Buckhead we will ride on Peachtree St and see the High Museum of Art, Margaret Mitchell House, Fox Theatre and so much more! Other things to note This is a 5 Hour Atlanta Tour from 9am - 2pm. You will be inside a covered bus and we will get off the bus several times to see different sites on your guided tour of Atlanta.
