Holiday rentals with breakfast in Gulf of Papagayo

Amazing spot tucked away in the jungle. Peaceful, beautifully designed, great hosts, great food, fun surfing! I definitely recommend a stay here. It’s a ways off the beaten track but well worth the trip. A tip- make sure to bring cash with you- no cards accepted.

Exactly as described. Great house and location for a low-key beach vacation. The house is located “just over the hill” from Playa Grande, and is on the much quieter Playa Ventanas where we’d often be the only people on the beach for hundreds of yards, even with the holiday week. Through the gate and down a short path and you are on the beach. House itself is clean and comfortable. Everything you need - well stocked kitchen, beach chairs, boogie boards and beach towels. A beach tent for shade was also available when we asked. Very different than the luxury rentals popping up all over PG, but great if you are looking for a laid back stay. Jorge was responsive with questions. Felt completely safe. Would return again!

Great stay in José and Darling's house! We will not forget the good times spent with José and Darling! They were always available to help if needed, and we learned a lot about Costa Rica. The village has a large playground which is great for children to play. Place is peaceful and secluded. Thanks for all my friends and I hope to see you these days!

The place was spacious, clean and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay, it was just a short walk away from the beach. The host was fantastic, and we had great communication throughout my stay. They were very friendly and accommodating. Overall, we had a great experience at this Airbnb and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing vacation close to the beach.

Great value, lovely couple, yummy breakie

This is by far the best Airbnb experience we’ve ever had. The house itself is exceptionally built with high quality materials, gorgeous furniture, and well maintained fixtures and appliances. The location is just a short walk to the beach and is quite unbeatable. But what stood out to me most was the outstanding service. We had clear communication throughout the entirety of the stay. Any requests were immediately addressed. We also had a house mom who cooked breakfast and cleaned for us daily. This is not a regular Airbnb stay - It is more akin to a 5-star hotel stay with amenities, services, and quality of space. I will highly recommend this to anyone visiting Costa Rica and would absolutely stay there myself again.

My friends and I had an unforgettable experience staying at Casa Sal y Sol! It was our first time in Costa Rica, and we were looking for a place that was spacious, safe, and conveniently close to the beach—and this place truly had it all. The house is about 30 minutes outside of Tamarindo, and really was the perfect balance of a laid-back surfer town but also had charming restaurants and local spots. The house is very close to the beach, making it incredibly easy to run back if we forgot anything, and the beach itself was peaceful and uncrowded. Each room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. My guests and I slept great! One of the highlights of our stay was the housekeeper who came daily to tidy up and make the beds. She was incredibly friendly and also helped those of us wanting to practice our Spanish. We all agreed that this Airbnb was absolutely worth every penny. We’ll definitely be returning and recomend it to any family or friend group looking to enjoy Costa Rica!

The place was in the perfect location. Right by all the restaurants and bars and super close to the beach. My buddies from surf school ended up staying at the hotel right across the street so it couldn't have been more perfect for me. I had originally only plannes to stay two weeks and decided to stay an extra. William was a great host. Very response with the booking and while I was in town. He gave me great tips and recommendations for my trip and I also ended up doing private yoga classes through one of his friends.

We had a perfect time here. The Hosts are super friendly, caring and communicative. There was at any time someone present for anykind of questions. Lieke organised a wonderful boattrip for us. Staff was very friendly and attentive too. Kids loved the pool and the beach. The mexican bungalow was more spacious than it appeared on the pictures. Food in the evening was just delicious (seafood soup, seafood pasta, sushi). We highly recommend staying here, especially for families!

Finca las Garzas is a beautiful place. Alejandro, María, Tina, and Bella were very friendly. All of the animals and dogs—Tootsie, Milo, Lulu, Lola, Doll, Astro, Tormenta, Pelucho, Igor and hundreds of others—all seemed very happy. We never met the host. The breakfast was amazing. Raw milk is illegal in New York, so to have access to it every day was a dream. I am sensitive to pasteurized dairy, but the raw milk and cheese did not upset my stomach at all. We loved walking the property. We picked the best mangos we’ve ever had off of the huge trees and walked around eating them. We walked through the forest and saw dozens of howler monkeys up in the trees. It was incredible. HOWEVER, the first night Igor the donkey was very loud and the roosters started at 3 am. The following 3 nights the roosters started at 3 am and 2 am! We tried ear plugs and white noise. It didn’t help. So we had to leave 3 days early for health reasons. Also not walkable to beach. Anyway, we are very grateful.

I’ve staying in over 100 Airbnbs in my life and this one is by far my favorite. The location, the design and oh my goodness- the breakfast! It was all incredible. We loved Las Catalinas and adored the house. It was beyond comfortable and so luxe. One thousand percent recommend!

Everything was great during our stay. The location is perfect, near the beach, supermarket and restaurants. The room has everything you will probably need, also the shared kitchen is well equiped. The hosts are very friendly and the breakfast was definitely the best part of our stay.

One night stay was perfect here. Karla and Alberto made sure we were taken care of and provided a delicious breakfast with a great spread of food. Nice pool and weight area available. The location is ideal walking distance to the beach. Would return again.

Kyna and Elmer (...and Mogli) are great hosts. They made me feel very comfortable when I was there solo after my wife and daughter went back to the US a few days before I did. And the villas are very quiet and peaceful....very relaxing. Breakfast every morning was healthy and delicious. And whether you are a surfer or just a beach lover, the ocean (Playa Avellana) is truly a very short walk away from the villas. I have been traveling in Costa Rica for many years, and this place stands out as one of the best. I would stay (and probably will) there again for sure!

We had the best time staying at Calypso. The host Nico was friendly and personable, and we felt right at home. It was the perfect location being in walking distance to everything in the area that you would want to see. It was clean and a beautifully unique property. We look forward to returning at some point in the future.

Dalia was so nice and gave us a warm welcome. We felt like family! There was another woman there that was also extremely nice. The breakfast was perfect! Great pitstop 20 minutes away from the airport. We ordered an uber to the airport and it was nice and easy. If we need a spot near the airport in the future we will definitely be back here! Maureen’s place was perfectly situated near the national park but close enough to other activities that we weren’t spending our days in the car. Very peaceful and wonderful opportunity to meet other travelers.
