Jackdaw Cottage offers a holiday with a difference. It is set in the stunning national park of Exmoor - perfect to to get away from it all with that remote wildness and yet close enough to great restaurants and facilities.
WELL BEHAVED MULTIPLE DOGS WELCOME
We are not offering manicured lawns and corporate style holiday units - we are offering you a little "Piece of Heaven" in that you are living and breathing Exmoor in all its wild beauty and yet only five minutes from great beaches and shops.
The space
Jackdaw Lodge has a lovely big sitting room with two settees and two armchairs. It has a practical wooden floor with rugs. The kitchen is compact but has everything you need. The bathroom has a shower and a bath. There is a large conservatory area which is great for wet dogs, coats and boots. Dogs can be left unattended in this area. It has a good sized DOG PROOF garden for 99% of dogs. However, if you have a big dog that can jump out this may be an issue. We have never had it happen yet as although the fence isn't very high (we didn't want to spoil the beautiful views) the fence is actually difficult for dogs to jump over because of the wire at the top.
It also has outside furniture so that you can enjoy the stunning Devonshire countryside and the Sea Views.
Here at Jackdaw we are truly 'dog friendly'. Dogs can go anywhere in the house, sleep on settees and even on your bed. Preferably not IN the bed as the hair can be a nightmare to get out of the sheets. There are throws available but please bring your own also.
There is a tap and hose in the garden and we even have an in house self service dog wash which has a Flea and Tick wash as an option AND a secure doggy play barn.
Please note that there could be pigs or chickens passing by your secure garden - if you have a 'reactive' dog who cannot cope with this then probably best you don't book!

Guests are welcome to wander around the farm and say hello to the horses, chickens and our pet pigs Wiggley ,Piggley and our latest addition, Gerald However, children MUST be accompanied by adults as it is a farm and there may be machinery around.
Other things to note
We offer a dog sitting service where you can leave your dog with the knowledge that he/she will be treated like one of the family. Well behaved multiple dogs welcome. £20 per dog per stay for the first two dogs, £5 for extra dog over two.
We also have a secure DOGGY PLAY BARN where your dog can play on our various equipment safely.
A Helipad is also available for those lucky guests who own a helicopter. Great taxi service into the village and to the beaches.

Neighbourhood highlights
The Lodge is in the most beautiful location with the sea just two miles away and Lynton and Lynmouth about one and a half miles away. Plenty of beautiful walks on your doorstep - You can literally walk straight out on to the moors with no roads at all. Even in the busiest times you are unlikely to see a single person. However, if you wanted some 'action' Lynton and Lynmouth are wonderful friendly towns with everything you could want - Dozens of top restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, a cliff railway and even a unique quaint cinema. Everything you could possible want within five miles.
