This is our premier hut. It is in the most beautiful location with the sea on one side and the moors on the other. It also enjoys the most spectacular sunsets. If you love wildlife and luxurious glamping with NO neighbours then you will love the Sunset Hut. You have the WHOLE field to yourself. You can walk straight out on to the moors from your doorstep having enjoyed the best of sleeps on the super comfy king sized bed. Enjoy the lovely setting of this romantic spot in nature.

The space
Although the hut is solar powered it has very good facilities. It has a fridge, a calor gas cooker with free gas canisters, a fire pit with pots and pans provided. Plates, cups, cutlery and wine glasses are included. We also include candles for that romantic meal. It has a super king sized bed with a very comfortable mattress. Full linen and towels are provided. There is a hot shower and eco friendly compostable loo. The water is from the bore hole and as it hasn’t been filtered will need to be boiled. Some drinking water is provided and bottles can be filled at the farm or bring your own.

Guest access
Guests are free to roam the small farm and meet Piggley and Wiggley our very friendly pigs, and feed the chickens with any leftover scraps. There are horses to stroke and an orphaned foal called Lou Lou who loves attention. Dogs will need to be kept on a lead if they chase chickens or horses. The field that the hut is in is yours to enjoy. The moors with 20,000 acres is a few steps away.

Other things to note
Please don't come here if you are a 'clean freak'. The hut is in the middle of a field and there is bound to be the odd cobweb.

We offer a licenced and insured day care service for your dog.

A holiday with a difference. The Sunset Hut is set in the middle of stunning Exmoor - perfect for the independent traveller who wants to get away from it all. This shepherd hut is different in that you all have your own privacy and bit of wild living. You have the whole field to yourself. We are not offering manicured lawns and corporate style holiday units - We are offering you a "Piece of Heaven" in that you are living and breathing Exmoor in all its wild beauty.
Superb walking, birdwatching, horse riding (stables available), swimming in the sea, cycling or just star watching (we live in the dark skies area of Exmoor) and sitting by the camp fire. Only a few steps along the footpath and you are on the open moors where you could walk all day without seeing a single soul. (Please note that the hut is in the middle of a field and there could be flies, spiders and the occasional cobweb. Please don't book if this would upset you.)
Alternatively you can visit the quaint towns of Lynmouth and Lynton with the craft shops and artisan tea rooms or take the breath taking drive across the moors to Porlock Weir where amongst other things you can enjoy the multi award winning Porlock Bay oysters.
