Stay at The Old Townhouse, perfectly located within Caernarfon’s historic town walls — just steps from Caernarfon Castle, the harbour, and independent shops and cafés. Dating back over 200 years, it’s full of quirky character and old-world charm. Please note: as a traditional townhouse, it has several flights of stairs and may not suit guests with limited mobility. The Old Townhouse makes a cosy, central base for exploring Snowdonia/Eryri and all of North Wales.

The space
Stay within Caernarfon’s historic town walls in this quirky 200-year-old townhouse. Spread across three floors, the house has two beautiful double bedrooms: one bright and airy with a big comfy bed, the other a cosy snuggly top-floor retreat with a separate split-level dressing room for extra space. Both rooms include bedside tables with lamps, plug sockets close to the bed, USB chargers, dressing tables, and storage for your clothes and suitcase.

The open-plan living room and kitchen is a light and welcoming space with views across the old town. The lounge features a large sofa, armchair, pouffe, and an imitation wood-burning stove set in the original stone chimney breast. Relax with a free Netflix account, smart TV apps, super-fast fibre WiFi, or a selection of board games and local interest books.

The kitchen is fully equipped, including an oven, hob, Nespresso coffee machine, lots of USB ports and washing machine. A generous bathroom offers a huge walk-in shower.

You’ll have the entire townhouse to yourself, right in the heart of Caernarfon’s cobbled streets. Independent shops, cosy pubs, cafés, the harbour, and Caernarfon Castle are just steps away.

Guest access
You’ll have the entire townhouse to yourself for your stay. The front door has a keyless entry system which uses a code which you will be sent, so you can come and go as you please without worrying about keys.

Other things to note
The property is over 200 years old, full of character with some uneven floors.

We allow one well behaved pet to stay at The Old Townhouse, please make sure you've read the House Rules before booking.

There are several flights of stairs throughout, so it may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.

The top bedroom has a low ceiling.

There is no garden or yard with this property.

Complimentary essentials (tea, coffee, milk, etc.) are provided, along with some extra treats.

Public car parks are available nearby – Balaclafa Road Car Park always has plenty of spaces and is inexpensive, it is about a 5-minute walk from The Old Townhouse.

There is also a limited amount of on street parking along High Street (maximum of 45 minutes Mon-Sat from 9am to 5pm), which is handy for loading/unloading your luggage.
