The space
Tri Afon Cottage is a well-equipped luxury country cottage, home to bright and spacious reception rooms with parquet flooring, a traditional kitchen, idyllic oak-framed sunroom, modern bathrooms and cosy bedrooms with large, inviting superking beds. The house boasts incredible mountain and countryside views from all aspects.
This spacious home is the perfect luxury bolthole from which to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park, walk the Offa's Dyke path, wander around the quaint market towns of Abergavenny, Hay-on-Wye, and Crickhowell, or explore Herefordshire's most famous sights, including Hereford Cathedral.
INDOORS
Step into the oak-framed porch, and enter into the heart of the home. Head into the comfy living room, well-equipped with luxurious Duresta sofas, a woodburner waiting to be lit, a television, and plenty of books and board games for you to enjoy! The living room leads down into the recently added oak-framed sunroom, the perfect spot from which to enjoy your morning coffee, admiring the mountain views from the comfort of the luxury Duresta sofas.
Follow the hallway through into a large kitchen, where delicious homemade cupcakes and welcome goodies await. The long oak table is perfect for hosting any special occasion. The kitchen leads out to a further boot room and utility room with a larder cupboard for storing all your tasty treats, a washing machine and tumble dryer, and flip flops to make your trips to and from the hot tub more comfortable. On the ground floor there is also a convenient WC and a separate cosy snug with smart TV & DVD player, perfect for movie nights.
Head up the mahogany stairs where you will be greeted with glorious panoramic mountain views of Hatterrall Hill. Upstairs you will find three spacious bedrooms with inviting superking beds, the comfiest Vispring mattresses, and luxury White Company bed linen to ensure the perfect night's sleep! The third bedroom can be made into two full-sized single beds upon request. All three bedrooms enjoy views of the surrounding countryside and farmland, and have their own modern bathroom, two as ensuite shower rooms and one as a family bathroom with bath, rainfall shower, and bidet.
OUTDOORS
Outside, the cottage is surrounded by mature gardens, French doors lead onto a sun-trap patio, with a large oak table offering seating for six and a charcoal Weber barbecue, perfect for alfresco brunches and summer suppers. Another idyllic patio area at the back of the property provides further seating. Hang your robes on the outdoor hooks, step into the bubbling Jacuzzi hot tub (in operation all-year round), sit back and admire the views and starry skies. Adjacent to the hot tub is a sizeable games room with football and ping pong tables, ideal for a great night of entertainment. Carry the giant Jenga and boules set out onto the lawn for extended family fun, or escape with a good book and a cup of tea to the bench at the bottom of the garden for some peace and quiet.
At the front of the property there is off-road parking for at least three cars. Guests also have access to an electric vehicle charging point, located at the owners' farm 2 miles away (based on prior arrangement).
LOCATION
If one wishes to roam, a short walk down the adjacent country lane leads to a footpath onto Hatterrall Hill, where breathtaking mountain views await. and a 3 minute walk leads into the centre of Longtown village, home to a fantastic village shop (Hopes of Longtown) and food pub (The Crown Inn). The nearby hamlet of Clodock is also home to an unspoilt traditional pub of great character, church and river, perfect for a spot of wild swimming!
There are many other nearby country inns if you wish to dine out. The market town of Abergavenny is 7 miles away, and the popular Town of Books, Hay-on-Wye, is 9 miles away. There are endless attractions in the area to keep the whole family satisfied, from vineyards with wine tasting to National Trust properties, small breed animal farms to ice cream parlours. Whether you're a downhill biking enthusiast, a fancy foodie, a hiker, or a spa goer, there is plenty to keep you entertained during your stay!
