Well House Cottage offers a perfect base for walkers and cyclists looking to explore the stunning landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales. Nestled in this charming town, the cottage provides a comfortable, relaxing retreat after a day of adventure.

Nidderdale, is an ideal starting point for numerous scenic walking and cycling routes. Whether you're keen on exploring rugged moorland, picturesque villages, or peaceful riverside paths, there's something for every level of outdoor enthusiast.

The space
This charming one-bedroom cottage offers the perfect retreat. Moments from the town centre, the cottage is designed with comfort in mind, featuring a welcoming log burner that creates a warm, inviting atmosphere during the colder months. The fire will be laid ready for you. If you require more logs they are available to purchase in town- unfortunately we do not supply logs.

The bedroom has a comfortable king size bed, with soft furnishings and thoughtful touches that make you feel right at home.

The cottage comes with a well-equipped kitchen, ideal for preparing your favourite meals, whether it's a simple breakfast or a gourmet dinner. The kitchen boasts modern appliances, ample counter space, and all the utensils you’ll need to cook up a storm.

For added convenience, there is a private bathroom that offers all the amenities needed for a relaxing experience. Whether you're unwinding in a hot shower or enjoying a quiet moment in the bath.

The cottage does not have any outdoor space but we have the Yorkshire Dales on our doorstep.

Whether you're looking for a quick getaway or a cosy retreat for a special occasion, this cottage combines rustic charm with modern amenities for the ultimate stay.

We are situated in the centre of town and traffic can be noisy as we are on located on the main road. Perfect for access to town.

Please note the cottage is not detached it is attached to our family home, you may from time to time hear the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Guest access
You will have the entire cottage to yourselves.

We have an additional area to hang wet coats and leave muddy boots. We also offer bike storage and motorbike storage onsite (please request at time of booking).

There is parking on the driveway directly in front of the cottage for 1 car.

Please note the cottage is only suitable for babes in arms due to the log burners and decoration. Unfortunately we do not have any cots or highchairs available but there is room for a travel cot in the bedroom.

Other things to note
Well House Cottage is approximately 260 years old, ceilings are low, walls are wonky and floors creaky. We love our cottage and its charm but understand it's not for everyone.

If you hate ducking to get through doorways, climbing steep stone steps to get to bed or getting up to put another log on the fire when the temperature drops, then this cottage is not for you (the stairs are carpeted and there is gas central heating).

The cottage is not suitable for elderly or infirm guests.
