Removing a review

Removing a review you received

If a review doesn’t follow our Reviews policy or Content policy, you can ask us to remove it.

How to submit a review removal request

  1. Start the request.
  2. Select the review you want removed. Reviews are shown in reverse chronological order.
    1. A review will only be if you are one of the following:
        1. The listing owner: The person who lists a space with their Airbnb account.
        2. A co-host designated as having full access on this listing. Head to your listings to check if co-hosts have full access.
        3. The owner of a hosting team, and hosting team members with broad permissions.
        4. The guest who booked the reservation.
    2. If you try to make a review removal request and can't, you or another eligible person may have already made a request that is still open.

3. Select the primary reason you want the review removed. If there is more than one reason, you can provide more details in the next step.

4. Provide all relevant details about the primary reason you believe the Reviews Policy was violated. We may also review for other violations, so if there are other violations, you can also include details beyond the primary reason during this step. Be sure to upload any supporting documentation, like screenshots or photos.

    5. Select Submit. You’ll be sent an email with details about the request.

What happens after a review removal request

We’ll follow up by email with a decision, typically within 48 hours.

If we find that the review follows our Reviews Policy, it won’t be removed from the Airbnb platform.

If we find that the review doesn’t follow our Reviews Policy, it will be removed from the Airbnb platform. In this case, we’ll also send an email to the person who wrote the review, telling them why it was removed and that they can contact us if they think we should reconsider.  If they contact us and share information that leads to a reversal of our decision, we will reinstate the review, and we’ll let you know.

Requesting a change to gender pronouns used in a review

You can contact us to request a change in the gender pronoun used to describe you in a review to your preferred name or if you have questions about a change to a review you have written. Upon request, and except where prohibited by law, we may edit reviews written about you in order to change the gender pronoun used to describe you.

    Removing a review you wrote

If a review no longer reflects your experience as a guest or host, you can contact us to have it removed.
