The house is cleaned, ventilated and then sanitized before your stay. Tucked away on a hill above hip Highland Park, this 2BR/1BA casita comes with stunning views of the San Gabriel Mountains and abundant Old Hollywood charm. Impeccably manicured gardens, a gorgeous living room, 2 large bedrooms and a big, fully stocked kitchen offer couples and families an idyllic place to call home for as long as they like. Local shops, restaurants, parks and playgrounds are within walking distance, and check out the newly restored 1920’s bowling alley - Highland Park Bowl, just a 5-minute drive away. Top L.A. attractions are also within easy reach. Drive 10 minutes to Old Pasadena for iconic shopping and nightlife, 17 minutes to downtown and enjoy easy access to Hollywood, North Hollywood and Burbank Studios. INSIDE THE HOUSE Enjoy views of the San Gabriel Mountains in a beautiful living room featuring hardwood floors, a flat-screen TV and a huge sofa. An arched picture window frames the mountain vista, while French doors lead to a spiral staircase that winds down to lush, landscaped gardens. Groups love spending time in both the front and backyards, with secluded seating areas, shaded lawns and a snug little room the kids will want to claim as their own private den. After a quiet retreat to read or relax? A covered patio featuring wicker furniture and an electric grill offers a wonderful little sanctuary. A large and well-stocked kitchen has everything needed to prep meals for light lunches and crowd-pleasing dinners. Nearby, a bench-style breakfast nook seats 6 - a great social spot and perfect for long and lazy breakfasts. The main dining area has an expandable table with built-in padded benches and chairs offering room for 8 or more. Hardwood floors continue in both of the comfy bedrooms. A master bedroom has a plush king-sized bed, separate day bed, flat screen TV and a spacious closet. Great views of the San Gabriel Mountains come as an added bonus. The brightly furnished guest bedroom is ideal for the kids. Alongside 2 twin beds, there’s a full sofa, which you can easily convert to another single bed, and two extra folding beds are available in the closet. There are two sofas in the main living, each convert in to full-size beds. Its all yours! Explore your hip Highland Park neighborhood and you’ll find local shops, restaurants and parks all within walking distance. Spend the morning at Lower Arroyo Park - just a 7-minute drive away, then take the kids to Highland Park Bowl, - the oldest bowling alley in L.A. and just a 5-minute drive from the house. A shopper’s delight and home to buzzing nightlife, Old Town Pasadena is just a 10-minute drive. Hollywood, North Hollywood and Burbank Studios are also within easy reach away. As for the local dining scene? Stroll 7 minutes to My Taco for good old Mexican classics, walk 10 minutes for tempting Italian cuisine at Maximiliano, or drive 5 minutes and grab tables at Ba - a cute little bistro serving all your French favorites. RENTAL RULES Smoking is not allowed Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest. The unit is privately owned; the owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise. Keep the property and all furnishings in good order Only use appliances for their intended uses. Parking: There is ample street parking in front of the house as well as on the street below. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner. Housekeeping: Housekeeping service at the end of your stay is included. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We suggest you bring beach towels. Please do not take towels or linens from the house. Landscaping: Bi weekly yard cleanup is included. Please inform us if you notice any problems with plants or trees (downed, damaged, blocking doors, etc). Fireplace: Unfortunately the fireplace is not safe to use. Please do not burn anything in it. Noise: Please follow common sense and courtesy in regards to noise. No loud noise or music after 10pm. Barbecue: Guest assumes any responsibility/liability associated with using this gas grill. LP gas provided. Misc: The house is in great shape, but is almost 90 years old, so please exercise the appropriate care. Windows will sometimes stick, and doors need to be opened and closed gently. Let us know if anything is not working properly and we will attend to it right away.
