Charming self catering cottage, situated west of Galway city and within walking distance of the quaint village Spiddal. With Connemara, the Burren and the Aran Islands on your doorstep why not have Cloch Na Scith as your base for your Irish adventure. Mentioned in Frommers Ireland/Lonely Planet/Michelin Guide/ The Rough Guide/ Travel 101/ Le Guide du Routard. Regretfully the cottage is not suitable for children.
“Travelled with a group of 4 girls and we LOVED Nancy's cottage. She was so welcoming and willing to help, and the space is exactly as pictured. It was winter, so it was a bit cold of course, but the scenery was still breathtaking. The full kitchen was helpful as well. The only problem we had was transportation - it is a bit more difficult to navigate the bus system than expected and taxis were very expensive, if willing to drive this far out at all.”
The house is close to the beach, public transport, and family-friendly activities. Comfortably heated rooms with nice views from the breakfast/dining area. The house can cater for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids). Three bedrooms available, one of those by special request. You can prepare an evening meal if you need to but let me know prior to booking to arrange it.
“Johnny's place is really nice, located outside of Galway with quick access to the city. It is also very well located if you are planning to visit the Aran Island since it's between Galway and Rossaveal ferry terminal, in this way you could avoid the traffic of the city. The communication and check in with Johnny was really good and fluid facilitating arriving to the premises on time for enjoying the surroundings. The rooms are big with a lot of space for a family or group. Highly recommended !!!”
Why not relax & unwind with us while you experience the City, beautiful Connemara and The Aran Islands. The golf club and Hooker Bar 5 min drive with live music most weekends. Our local shop is 5 mins by car, cafes/restaurants are approx 5 miles away. Rosaveal is a 15 min drive for the ferry to the Aran Islands. We have heritage centres galore and a seaweed centre/cafe, we are also central to Gaeltacht colleges and the Spórtlann for Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta 2020!
“We can’t recommend Carmel’s place more highly! Charming hosts, sparkling clean home and lovely breakfast with bread homemade by Carmel’s mother in law. The bedding and mattresses were superb- we slept like babies! Carmel suggested a day drive for us and it was stunning - truly, the scenery is unrivaled. Our stop at Kylemore Abbey with its walled garden was a highlight. We will definitely be back!”
