“We really enjoyed our stay at Pat's cottage. It was perfect for us to come back to after adventuring in the Highlands all day. It felt like a home away from home. The cottage was very stylishly decorated and had everything we needed, such as a fully equipped kitchen, a TV with DVD player, and even a hairdryer! We even had a few snacks laid out for us to enjoy when we arrived. The cottage is in the perfect location, right next to Loch Ness and only a short drive away from numerous sightseeing spots and bigger towns and cities. We even got to enjoy the snow while we were at the top of a mountain. Pat and Thomas were very friendly and considerate hosts. We recieved daily messages making sure we were ok and giving us tips and recommendations. We felt really at home and would definitely come back. Thank you!”
Comfortable light airy rooms. Extremely welcoming, homely, cheery. On the edge of the village of Fort Augustus within walking distance of the southern tip of the beautiful Loch Ness and ample eateries and local shops.
“We had a wonderful stay at the oaks and really recommand staying here. Hazel and Jim are excellent hosts and we felt so welcome. The room and bathroom are very clean, and in the morning a very delicious breakfast was prepared. Hazel and Jim are very open and friendly and are always in for a chat. They could give us information about what to do around Loch Ness. Never had such good hosts before!”
This part of the Scottish Highlands is a truly stunning area with an abundance of wildlife, beautiful views, walks and places of interest. Auchterawe House is a perfect place for walkers, hikers, cyclists and keen fishers. Auchterawe House is set in the woods of Auchterawe Forest. Take a cruise to see Nessie the Loch Ness Monster or stop off at the Caledonian Canal Centre in Fort Augustus. In Fort Augustus there are several pubs and restaurants to choose from.
“Even though we made booking at Sara and Luke's place at very short notice (the next day), they were very accommodating and helpful. Their house is lovely and the location in Auchterawe forest is beautiful. The bedroom was nice and warm, the shower was excellent and the bed was comfortable. It was also useful to have a microwave in the room as it meant we could bring dinner to heat up rather than needing to pay to eat out. The games room was fun to use (competitive couples take note - the air hockey table is quite small and you can reach across to the other half so if you're anything like me and my husband you might end up basically physically tackling each other!). We would definitely recommend staying here.”
