Grandpa's Cottage

Grandpas Cottage is a pretty unique oasis. The house was originally build by our great grandmother and uncle in 1968 as an upgrade from the semi turf house they previously lived in on the estate. Grandpa and his brothers acquired the house after her passing in the early 1980's. By that time they had all moved to the city and shared the house as a summerhouse and a get away back to their roots. The house is by no mean luxurious or elegant. But it has a lot of soul and a beautiful peaceful wipe.

Hólmavík Guesthouse a recently opened Bed & Breakfast Guesthouse located right by the old harbor. Upstairs there's a coffeehouse where you can enjoy a beverage while enjoying the fantastic view of the Steingrímsfjord from the balconies, breakfast is also served there. There are also plenty of activities and attractions around, including a swimming pool, museum of witchcraft, horse riding, great hiking trails, whale watching, golf course and many more. Hrakhólar is a summerhouse (25M2) in Bjarnarfjordur, 25 km from Hólmavík. Excellent location for travelling to North/South Strandir or Westfjords. The house stands by the river that runs down the valley. It is a quiet place an excellent place to see the northern lights. There is also a private hot tub Swimming pool and geothermal hot tubs are located in Laugarhóll about 1 km from the house. Outside the house is a fire place. Good for quiet evening under the sky and aurora borealis.

Spacious, stylish and warm apartment in the countryside. The farm has a natural hot-spring, small forestry and a blooming greenhouse well worth visiting. Also, Svansholl is located next to Hotel Laugarholl where you can buy breakfast, dinner or pool-access.

Spectacular view over Steingrímsfjord and the island Grímsey. Lovely cottage close to Drangsnes. The cottage has two bedrooms, both have a double bed and a bunk bed over the bed. Six persons can stay in the cottage. Bathroom with a shower and washing machine. The kitchen is well equipped with stove, microwave, fridge/freezer and cutlery and tableware. The untouched nature and birdlife is amazing in this area.

A public swimming pool and showers about 5 km away.

Room 2: Has 2 size bed 90 x 200 cm and two night tables. Kitchen: Has all utensils and appliances, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, everything for cooking. Dining room: The dining room is next to the kitchen with a good dining table. Laundry: are washing machine and a dryer.

A lovely rustic house by the sea

Hólmavík is a very beautiful fishing town. It is in the western part of Iceland, by Steingrímsfjörður. It serves as a centre of commerce in the north west and has 375 inhabitants. Hólmavík is home to the Museum of Icelandic Sorcery and Witchcraft.
