Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Karen

The location and the surroundings were great, especially traveling with a 3year old it felt safe, the guard at the gates were very thorough. The house caretakers were helpful and always there if we needed help with something. The garden was beautiful and well kept. At night the house worker came to put the electric fence on. So we were very well taken care of and Elizabeth our host was ready all the time to help, even if we had to change our arrival time. I will be coming back next year, thank you Elizabeth.

Marine was friendly, responsive and helpful. We arrived in the middle of the night but still had no problem with her instructions or getting into the house. The house was spacious, clean and comfortable and the garden was stunningly beautiful. I would highly recommend staying there for families and groups who want to be that side of town.

What an amazing place, my favorite area in Nairobi - maybe even the whole world. You are near to all that Nairobi has to offer but it feels like a quiet rural area. And such a beautiful massive mature garden. Highly recommend a walk down to the lake below lower kabete. We hope to be back soon!

Nice quiet place with beautiful surroundings and the private garden makes you to relax. the area is very safe, lot of rerestrestaurants are around, Mikhail responded quickly also the staffs are very friendly. For sure we will book again. I recommend other travellers too.

We absolutely loved our stay. It was the perfect place for a family Christmas, with not just relatives, but visiting Turkeys, Chickens, Dogs and even a giant tortoise. The Compound itself is stunning with some wonderful big old tree’s. Ann was a wonderful welcoming and helpful Housekeeper.

We had a great stay at Jo's cottage. Everything was as described, and Jo was very responsive and helpful. Property supervisor Christopher who lives nearby is lovely and helpful, too. The only confusion we had when finding the place resulted from the pin on airbnb not being in the right spot (which matters because there's no actual address). This should be an easy fix. Overall, great value--highly recommended.

This Airbnb was a dream! The breathtaking view of the Ngong Hills, dotted with windmills, created a serene and picturesque backdrop. The drive was an adventure on its own, with graceful giraffes casually strolling along the way—truly magical! Our stay made exceptional by the amazing staff—friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with a smile. The host was incredibly cooperative and hospitable, We were impressed by the stylish and thoughtful interior decor. It created such a warm and inviting atmosphere. But the real highlight was the comfort of the beds – they were heavenly and ensured a great night's sleep. Beyond the beautiful interiors, the outdoor spaces were equally stunning. We loved mini golf experience, Swimming 🏊‍♀️ | Bicycle ride 🚴 | Padel 🎾 | Patique 🎯 | Badminton 🏸 | Tennis 🎾 | Cards ♠️ | Njenga 🧩 We especially enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings and took advantage of the warmth to tell stories till late night. This ABnB truly exceeded our expectations.

This was our second time staying with Grace and Ruth, and they were fantastic hosts! The community around the apartment was very supportive. We stayed here for a few months, and it was a wonderful long-term experience. Any issues that arose during our stay were addressed quickly. The location is central, making it easy to reach many places. I work remotely and found this place to be an ideal office as well as a great spot to unwind with my family. I will definitely stay here again.

Mary's place is wonderful and absolutely worth visiting. While here, we had dinner prepared by Mary's mother one night at a very reasonable price. At dinner my wife mentioned our desire to see a masai tribe, so Mary and her mother arranged an affordable day trip to go meet a masai tribe in a traditional village where we had the opportunity to buy some of their wares and learn about masai culture. The room itself is wonderful but also wonderful are Mary and her mother and the gorgeous property in which the room is located. The town nearby is simple but with solid and affordable food and some nearby gyms. Highly recommended!

Mitchell was a great host who provided clear instructions. Mitchell was very responsive and the apartment was just as described. Centrally located, clean, safe, 24 hour security on site, an easy access to other amenities. I will be back.

We loved our stay! It was a family trip, 2 adults, 2 kids. The house is beautiful and the staff are even better. We were well taken care of from delicious breakfasts to coordination of local activities. They coordinated most of our rides, but Uber is easy use. Uber Eats so also an option if you don’t want to go out. The UN and Village Market are close with restaurants, local shopping, and fun activities. At the house, the kids played in the pool almost everyday with a beautiful banana tree providing the ambience, truly peaceful and idyllic! We’d go back in a heartbeat! Thank you! We miss you already!

Loved our stay. The team took good care of us and ofcourse Kita the dog always welcomed us enthousiastic. The place will need some maintenance in the near future but is super ok on the short time.

Even though her house is tucked away in a serene and beautiful location, she provided clear and accurate directions, making it easy to find. She was readily available to ensure our check-in was smooth and hassle-free. During our stay, she checked in on us but also gave us the freedom to enjoy ourselves without any interruptions, even as a large group. Bonsai Villa felt like home the moment I stepped in! Duncan is a fantastic host and all the staff are heartily welcoming, very warm, friendly and ready to help you with anything at all times: show you around their beautiful gardens, send you updates about interesting events, show you safest and cheapest ways to get around, recipes of Kenyan dishes ... The villa is located in one of the most beautiful and safest neighborhoods, surrounded by beautiful and gigantic vegetation, right next to Karura Forest. The terraces & gardens are full of beautiful tress, flowers, shrubs, & herbs carefully tended to by the staff, making the ambience very peaceful and pleasant. You feel like you're in the middle of the forest at all times of the day. If you are a foodie or traveling alone, you will absolutely love the huge common kitchen on the ground flower where you can socialize with the other guests, staff and cook. I call this house a home; I will always stay at Bonsai Villa when in Nairobi!

This is a nice place to spend with Friends and Family for a weekend or longer. The rooms are spacious and clean, you can get a bonfire on request. Since we wanted to enjoy every bit, the host helped us to get a good chef to cook and also clean. 5 star experience for me. I would also suggest you get a car with a good clearance!

Great property with lots of space. We enjoyed the park-like garden which is huge and reaches all the way down to the river of Karura Forest - incredible. The house is very large and has ample living space with three living room spaces, a dining area and a large well-equipped kitchen. The winding stairs to the sleeping quarters are challenging and feel unsafe. One can circumvent those by using the back-entrance from the garden. The sleeping quarters and the bath could use the most improvements with just minor easy fixes. The helpers living in the quarters next to the main house are all very helpful and easy to communicate with. Great place to stay in if you enjoy a park, are adaptable and not physically challenged.
