Tips from locals
A lovely neighborhood with lots of families, unique shops and clothing stores, quiet and safe.
Boerum Hill, called ‘a village in the city’ is the sweet spot between Cobble Hill and Park Slope neighborhoods, with historic streets lined with 19th century brick and brownstone row houses, and quirky bluestone sidewalks and gardens making it a lovely place to stroll. Neighborhood favorite restaurants like Mile End Deli, Rucola, Bacchus, French Louie and Black Forest offer great meals close to home. Atlantic avenue and Smith Street offer more bustling action and shopping with contemporary designers and antique stores to indie clothing, jewelry boutiques and galleries. Perhaps the greatest gem is found following Atlantic Avenue to its end at the Brooklyn Waterfront with the best views of the Manhattan skyline at sunset.
