If you’ve come to Portugal for the Mediterranean sun, you’ll adore the villa’s two levels of terraces, dotted with an ample supply of chaise longues. Spend the day by the swimming pool and the evening at the pergola-covered al-fresco dining area—or by the fireplace and satellite TV inside. Guests of Vila Atlântico I are also welcome at the shared health club, tennis courts, putting green and spa at Vila Vita Parc, though some services are at additional cost.
A pair of sliding doors connect the terrace to the open-plan living and dining areas, where pieces such as a striped sofa, wingback chair and graceful dining chairs lend a traditional feel. A corner with a built-in banquette is perfect for a morning coffee or quiet moment with a book. The fully equipped kitchen is set behind the great room and has its own breakfast table.
Each of the two bedrooms at Vila Atlântico I has a king bed, en-suite bathroom and lounge area; one opens directly to the pool terrace and the other has a fireplace and its own terrace. Like the great room, the suites are refined yet comfortable.
Long known for its classic Portuguese style, attentive service and fine dining, Vila Vita Parc is a destination in itself. But if you’d like to explore the area, it’s worth the walk to one of two nearby beaches, the boat ride to the spectacular Benagil Caves or the drive to the lively nightlife on The Strip in Albufeira. Avid golfers will appreciate the chance to play at Quinta do Lago and the several other challenging courses close by.
