This is one of the few places in the area with a pool.
Learn the custom of the country at the stunning eight-bedroom Torre Bisenzio. Once a customs post on the border between Tuscany and Umbria near Orvieto, the property’s tower dates to the 13th century, and its other buildings to the 17th century. Today, it’s been renovated into a beautiful country retreat with a prime location on a 440-acre farm, gorgeous countryside views and spacious, private accommodations in two buildings.
The space
There’s room to relax inside and out at Torre Bisenzio. The heated infinity pool has panoramic views and both sunny and pergola-shaded areas to lounge, a gazebo stretches over a dining area with pizza oven and barbecue and a bocce court invites friendly competition. Inside, challenge fellow guests in the billiards room or yourself in the exercise room, and enjoy a sauna, bar, media room and Wi-Fi access.
The recent renovation preserved the villa’s beamed ceilings and tile floors, and added traditional-style contemporary furnishings. In the living room, patterned sofas in soft reds and golds, carved wood side tables and ornate metal lamps create a comfortable, rustic-inspired atmosphere. The dining room has more modern flair, with a long table lined by peach- and cream-colored chairs, and the kitchen’s sleek appliances and marble counters are a cook’s dream.
The eight bedrooms at Torre Bisenzio can accommodate up to sixteen guests. There are three bedrooms in one building and five in the other; all have en-suite bathrooms. There are six bedrooms with king beds, and two bedrooms with two twin beds each. One of the bedrooms is located in a self-contained apartment with its own living room and kitchen.
From the villa, it’s a short drive to shopping, dining, leisure activities and the airport. The town of Fabro, where you’ll find a train station, is 10 minutes away. Take a ride at the equestrian center about 3 km away. The closest airport is Perugia, within 69 km drive, and Fiumicino Airport in Rome is 177 km away.
