The space
Tucked into the trees on a rolling hilltop, this 3-storey castle is directly accessible from the centre square of the small, neighboring medieval town. It’s been entirely renovated from carefully chosen materials, kept as close to its natural façade as possible. Tour one of the neighboring Tuscan vineyards, perhaps in Val d’Orcia, where you’ll encounter picturesque towns and fragrant olive groves.
Lofty timber beam ceilings and polished hardwood floors flow throughout the sophisticated interior. Artworks by Italian artisans decorate the vibrant walls; each room is designed with a uniquely elegant theme and palette. Sweeping staircases sprawl between each level. Sink into a plump sofa in the lounge and get lost in a novel grabbed from book-lined shelves or head outside to sit under a dappled canopy. A daily a la carte breakfast tempts you out of bed each morning and can be savoured alfresco underneath a vine-covered trellis. From the top floor, access the soaring Castle Tower for a bird’s eye view of the surrounding fields and foliage.
Organize a cooking class with your private chef for you and your crew in the well-equipped kitchen and learn how to make the cuisine you can’t get enough of. Venture from your grand abode to access the other hotel facilities; the Agua Spa features waterfall pools, a sauna, a Turkish bath, and various treatment cabins for couples. Wine therapy in the marble bath is not to be missed. Book a hot air balloon ride to witness the expansive countryside from the clouds.
