“Kowit's farm is beautiful no matter what time of the year. He told me the constant water supply from Doi Inthanon is what keeps his farm going throughout the dry winter. The views are spectacular and amazing how green the rice fields are even though I wasn't lucky enough to get too much blue sky during my 2 night/3 day stay. I'm an interested but novice photographer, so I did find it extremely challenging to capture the beauty into photos. If you are into exploring or photographing, I would recommend requesting Kowit to return you to the farm early as you want to (winter useful photographing sunlight ends before 6pm, complete darkness by 7pm). I would recommend getting Kowit to pick up back to his farm - its about a 2 hour drive from central Chiang Mai. If you are travelling by your own car, there are extensive mountain passes with blind corners (make sure you honk before entering). The dirt road from the main road to his farm is currently being concreted and should be finished in 3 months, but for now it is 4wd territory. if you have limited time or want to totally relax, I'd recommend requesting Kowit to tour you around (let him know when you are booking and he will give you a price upfront including transportation to his farm if needed). I took this lazy option and was pleasantly surprised that the summit of Thailand (Doi Inthanon) was on the itinerary. The other places on the itinerary were nice and I was very happy to take a back seat in this middle part of my Thailand trip (otherwise I wouldn't have been able to explore everything by myself), but I wouldn't say that I was absolutely blown away. Accommodation wise, it is a must try experience to live in a traditional Thai style hut. Keep your expectations in check that it is back to basics accommodation - its part of the experience and you learn how to be quick with cold water showers. There is no wifi but the mobile reception/streaming seemed faultless. Having Kowit's mum's home cooked meals on the balcony overlooking the rice fields is absolutely priceless.”

“Laurence and his wife and simply amazing! Even before I arrive, they were super friendly and responsive, and helped me a lot with whereabouts, local tips, and where to go next. The location is fabulous! It's a bit inside a calm and friendly village, and couldn't be better for an amazing night to sleep with natural breeze and wake up to roosters and birds! They also prepared a delicious dinner and a breakfast! Thank you so much for letting me stay at your awesome place, and I can't wait to meet you again in the winter!”
Located along the Yuam River and within a short walk to nearly everything, our small hotel is entirely built from reclaimed local teak wood. The hotel features a large terrace overlooking the river where guests are served delicious local cuisine alongside some international dishes we think we do really well. Good drinks and ambience in abundance. Please use Google or Apple map to find property.
“We chose this home because we wanted to experience a Teak house and what a beautiful home it was! The check in was smooth as it operates more like a hotel than an Airbnb but still a wonderful stay. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was included; all American-style dishes. Made the mistake of wearing fresh socks on the wood flooring and took a tumble down the stairs so I would recommend staying barefoot. I was anticipating the teak house would be isolated but it is right in the middle of a strip of places on the riverfront. Great value.”
