Alwan el Medina

The house is located in the historic center of Tunis. It is strategically located few minutes away from the Kasbah. Alwan El Medina's home was built in two steps: first the main floor, composed by Skifa and Makhzen, had been finished by the 17th century and the first floor in the late 18th, early 19th century. The Makhzen includes high vaulted ceilings as well as many beautiful columns in granit and marble that are remnants of Roman ruins and Hafside dynasties. This property first has been restored in 2000, and still going on, in a style that keeps her soul combining comfort and modernity. The guest master suite (40m ²) is located upstairs and overlooks the patio. It includes two areas: The first area with high wood ceilings is dedicated to a large sitting place with a possibility of an extra bed or a desk. The second one is an alcove with a cozy full size bed. A nice size three piece bathroom with authentic traditional tiles is attached to the master room.

The Blue Room, Tunis' Medina

La Chambre bleue is a Guest Room situated in the heart of the Medina (The City) of Tunis, in the ‘aly al-barrAny (independant floor, traditionally used to accomodate visitors) in an authentic historical house. It is a large room (around 40 square metres), of Tunis' Italianizing mid 19th Century style. The room has its own living space with a single sofa bed, an intimate alcove with a queen bed, a dressing and a shower room. It is equipped with central heating and internet connection.

The charm of the house rests mainly on its terrace overlooking the Medina, a unique place where you can contemplate the sunset with a good meal or a drink.

Located in the heart of the Medina of Tunis, 5 minutes from downtown Tunis, Dar Zyne is newly renovated while keeping its traditional and authentic style. Its foundation dates back to the 16th century, towards the end of the reign of the Mouradite Beys. It is located two minutes from the Zitouna Mosque and one minute from the souks of the Medina, the airport is 15 minutes away. Ps: We do not accept unmarried Tunisian couples.

The second contains a single bed. Possibility of adding an extra mattress/cot. Lunch is also available on-site for a charge. The kitchen and bathroom are shared with the home owners.
