Takehara City is located along the sea between Kure and Onomichi. The inn is a two-story, detached house with a courtyard built in the Edo period, located in the center of the Takehara Townscape Preservation District (a nationally important preservation district for groups of traditional buildings), a 13-minute walk from JR Takehara Station and a 20-minute drive from Hiroshima Airport. There are almost no people in the morning and evening, and you can spend a quiet time as if you have traveled back in time to an Edo period town. The spacious free space on the second floor is a large space with luxurious ceiling beams and a view of the streets of the town from the windows. From the room facing the courtyard on the second floor, you can see Fumeyakaku, a landmark of Takehara. In a space that has been artistically renovated with organic materials, you can enjoy unique art in various places. The bath is particularly special, with a hand-made ceramic bathtub by a craftsman from Yamagata prefecture, painted by the artist owner. The walls are plastered with a round finish and have art by Horro. The floor is covered with vibrant blue tiles from Awaji Island. The walls are plastered with Hiroshima oyster shells. Limited to one group per day, it can accommodate up to 4 guests. Only one dog can stay with you (but it must be kept in a cage in the tatami room). Because it is close to the Shinkansen, there is noise and vibration every time it passes. It may not be suitable for those who are sensitive to sound. (It is quiet because it does not operate from 11:40 pm to 6:20 am) If you are staying with 2 people, you can have separate bedrooms. Or you can combine two single beds to make a double bed. Former traditional Japanese confectionery shop(Machiya house). Good access to the Tadanoumi port(about 10 minutes walk) and JR Tadanoumi station(2 minutes walk). You can take the ferry to Okunoshima(rabbit island) from the port. Near-by sightseeing spots: Mt.Kurotaki, Kaguya-hime museum, Preservation district of important historical buildings in Takehara city. Optional dinner is available at cafe area with extra charge. We are sorry but you will hear the noise from the cafe from 8am -11pm.

We have the second house in Ikuchi Island. You can stay there whenever we don't use it. Please check in between 3pm and 11pm. Please pick up this house key from the key case on the premises. There is no WIFI in this house. There are no restaurants or convenience stores nearby. There is a cafe nearby, but it closes at 5pm. There are no street lamps around the neighborhood. Please turn on the outdoor light when stepping out at night.
