This is a somewhat nostalgic town where SL trains run and the Oi River flows, shimmering in shades of blue and green. Visiting Thomas the Tank Engine, playing in the river, and enjoying the hot springs.As it is located almost halfway between Tokyo and Osaka, it is also used for family trips, three-generation trips, and gatherings with friends and family. Kuma no Yaha is a traditional Japanese-style inn located on the banks of the Oigawa River, with only one room available per day. The 90-year-old traditional house was carefully renovated, with comfortable bathrooms, while the charm of the old building was preserved.It is a space with polished black beams, the scent of tatami mats, and traditional fittings and patterned glass. Open the sliding doors to reveal a large 34 tatami-mat space connecting four Japanese-style rooms.It's fine if small children run around. The kitchen is equipped with a full range of cooking utensils, tableware and basic condiments. Everyone gathered around the dinner table, chatting until late at night, or relaxing under the kotatsu. It feels like we're gathered at someone's country house, and the time passes with a certain nostalgia. We don't offer any fancy services, but we have created a space where you can have a pleasant stay, with seasonal flowers and sun-dried cotton futons. I would be delighted if you could get away from your hectic daily life and spend time with someone you care about.

- Maroya: Enjoy a Japanese house - "Maroya" is a beautiful house with a weathered exterior, built using traditional construction methods in the Taisho era. It has been vacant for a quarter of a century, but is currently being restored with the help of volunteers. It is a valuable building where you can feel the history and culture of Enshu. We are looking forward to receiving bookings from people who will use it with care, so that it can be passed on to the next generation.　 You can do some simple cooking in the kitchen. You can also cook rice on the traditional kamado stove. If you would like to do so, please speak to the manager. We will be happy to help. There are no screen doors. Sometimes insects may cause a disturbance. In early summer, fireflies can sometimes be seen along the nearby waterway. * It is a private rental, but the manager lives in a separate building, so you can rest assured. Please let us know if you need any guidance. * There is a coffee corner on the premises (there are sometimes exhibits too) on the premises. There may be people coming and going from the gate to the coffee corner area. * There are a few domestic cats, and they may come in and out of the house. Cat lovers are welcome. The fee will be used for future maintenance of the premises and building repairs.
