Manuela and Walter are incredibly sweet and welcoming people who went out of their way to make sure we felt at home in their bungalow. They have a beautiful flower garden and trees which provide privacy from the street. Manuela cleaned the room every day and made sure we were comfortable and had privacy. She also arranged a kayak tour for us nearby. The family is native to the island and made available lots of recommendations for food and tours which support native islanders. We were not able to swim as we came during the off-season for the beach and the waves were high and strong, but Manuela told us that the sandy beach season starts in March and April which is also when many of the trees are in bloom! It was very easy to find other accessible swim locations as the house is located conveniently on the isthmus between both volcanoes. Lastly, make sure you do not miss out on breakfast! We had their pancakes with fruit and the gallo pinto with sausage which were both super delicious.

Christine’s home in Ometepe is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking beauty of the house and its surroundings. Nestled right on the lake with a stunning view of the volcano, the perfectly manicured landscape made everything feel surreal—like something out of a dream. Waking up to the sounds of Congo monkeys and jaybirds singing was an experience in itself, creating such a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The house was the perfect size for our family, with excellent air conditioning and fans that kept us cool and comfortable. Christine was a fantastic host—communicative, helpful, and always making sure we had everything we needed. This stay was truly unforgettable, and we can’t wait to return!

It was a little tricky figuring out where to exactly find the place because there’s no signs, but some really nice locals helped me find it. The host was very fast at answering any of my questions. I used up the propane tank and they had someone there within the hour to replace it (mind you it was 6am when I messaged the host) would stay again!

If you are visiting Ometepe island this Villa is absolutely the best place to stay! Watching the sun set with a view of the volcano while laying in a hammock is an experience you will not soon forget. The property was extremely clean and we had absolutely everything we needed. The property manager Eric helped us set up cabs, ATV's and anything we wanted throughout our stay. Will definitely book again if we travel to the island!

The coolest most beautiful place i have ever stayed in my life. I never wanted to leave. You are on the water and can hear the sounds of the lake as you sleep. I would definitely recommend staying here. The ants were pretty bad so be mindful of that but other than that the place is perfect. I will be coming here again for sure.

Thank you for the amazing time in your home. We appreciate the beach and views of the volcanoes. The peaceful water sounds was the best part. The place was a little hard to find in the beginning but the hosts were very responsive and helpful. The area is rustic but you are secure behind multiple locks and fencing. Our family felt comfortable and safe.

Lukas' place is probably the coolest airbnb ive ever stayed at. Its such a relaxed and peaceful place with the huts and animals all around the property. If you like nature this is the spot for you. Will definitely need to come back one day.

Amazing host! Second time staying there. If you wanna see monkeys you will and they will take food right out of your hand. Absolute beautiful view especially in the morning. Stores and restaurants all with in walking distance. Soap and shampoo provided. If you wanna be in the best part of Ometepe you have found it here! Can't wait to be back.

The one bedroom suite was welcoming and we got there at sunset and had an incredible view off the balcony of the sun going down next to the volcano. Breathtaking!! Very spacious and clean and had everything we needed. Definitely will stay again and highly recommend!!

Fernando and the entire team were very kind, helpful, and responsive. The setting is perfect with beautiful sunsets every night. The room was ideal for me and it was great to have a kitchen, cold drinks, lots of options for sitting on the water, and kayaks available. I also enjoyed that local people came here to relax. I am so glad I used Caballitos Mar as the base for my Ometepe visit!

City Council Anyone who likes nature and tranquility will find this place amazing. The rustic wood-and-straw lakeside cottage was a unique experience. Aconchegante, with the noise of the lake water, seeing the starlight. Very special indeed. Tono and family welcomed us very well. Always very thoughtful and friendly. The breakfast is also delicious.
