MACOMO is named after "Makomo (true bamboo)". It is a plant of the Poaceae family that grows in colonies along the water's edge and is also called "Makomodake". Because it has a purifying effect on soil and water, it has been called "the grass where the gods dwell" and "the grass of fate" since ancient times, and is considered a sacred plant. It is used as a mat (mushiro) and a tool for purification in Shinto rituals such as at Izumo Taisha Shrine. We hope you have a pleasant trip to this inn. "Nagasaki Saka Yado" is a project to carefully renovate vacant houses on the slopes of Nagasaki City into shops and accommodations. 5 minutes on foot from Nagasaki Dentetsu "Shofukuji Station". We renovated a room in a row house built before the war along the old Mogi Kaido. 10-minute walk to Shianbashi, Nagasaki's downtown area. It is a 15-minute walk to the sightseeing street, and you can experience the Nagasaki-like townscape while being relatively conveniently located near the city. Within walking distance to Megane Bridge, Chinatown, and Dejima. The renovation has modernized the kitchen, toilet, bathroom, washroom, etc., while making use of the pillars and beams from the time it was built. * Although we clean, the building is old and sand and dust fall from the ceiling. We provide a vacuum cleaner, etc. if you are concerned during your stay. We have a 50-inch TV (Amazon Prime TV) in the room. There is a coin parking lot nearby. (30 seconds on foot)

KIGI MOKU MOKU is a host-style home located in Kosasamachi, Sasebo City, about 20 minutes by car north of downtown Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture, facing the abundant sea at the westernmost tip of Japan. Having lived here for 50 years, the trees in the yard have grown large and envelop the house that was rebuilt 20 years ago. When the morning sun rises, the birds begin to chirp, the crickets begin to sing, and shadows are cast on the wet edges. When the sun sets, the sky is full of stars, and on moonlit nights, you can see the shadow of the Buddhist priest. You'll be able to slowly feel the time change throughout the day. There is a barrel sauna in the corner of the private garden. Enjoy the outdoors in the garden at your leisure. Breakfast is served with fresh local ingredients. Dinner is optional. It's also fun to visit the host's recommended neighborhood shops. The host will help you with your trip from a moderate distance. Please use it as a base for your trip with friends and family.

We renovated a 160-year-old traditional house in 2023. The total site is 700 tsubo (2300 m ²), and the building is 170 m ², making it very spacious. While it is an 8-minute drive to Kumamoto Castle, it is a cottage where you can relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle. The garden is full of trees and flowers, including a large camphor tree that has been there for over 160 years, black pines, Japanese maples, and bamboo forests, so you can enjoy the trees and flowers in all seasons. The host lives in the adjacent building, so you can feel at home. Take a big, deep breath and refresh yourself from the heart. ●Here’s what you need to know · There are many mosquitoes and insects because there is a garden with many trees. If you don't like insects, it may be difficult to enjoy. The facility is located in a very quiet residential area. Please refrain from having loud conversations in the garden or on the deck after 8 pm.
