OPEN 20 March 2026 Nestled in the mountains of Nara and Yoshino, surrounded by greenery, lies a quiet, traditional Japanese-style inn, where only one group is accommodated per day: B&B Morino Akari.(The name means "Light of the Forest") ⚫︎ During your stay, breakfast and dinner prepared by the owner are included (see photos for reference). ⚫︎ We can also provide meals for pescatarians and vegetarians. The kitchen area is shared with Hotos.The rest of the property is for your exclusive use, and you can enjoy your time as freely as if you were renting the entire building. This spacious area, measuring approximately 230 m², can accommodate up to eight people.Ideal for family or group trips.There is also excellent access to Yoshinoyama, a popular cherry blossom viewing spot, and Kinnosuke-sanji Temple, a World Heritage Site. We have preserved the historic beams and tiled roof while creating a comfortable space for you to enjoy.The tranquillity of the mountains, the gentle light that shines at night.Here, you can enjoy a moment to forget about everyday life. To enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings, we recommend travelling by car. Villa EDGE – A luxurious stay in a private rental In Owase, surrounded by the sea, mountains and rivers, the entire villa is available for private rental to one group per day. You can enjoy the free BBQ set and a bonfire in the garden, or fully experience nature while swinging in a hammock on the 20 tatami wooden deck. The spacious living room is fully equipped with a Bluetooth speaker built into the ceiling. You can relax while listening to your favourite music. With excellent access to the World Heritage Site, the Kumano Kodo, and the Choshi River, known as the Miracle River, it is also an ideal base for sightseeing on the Kii Peninsula. In a quiet environment surrounded by nature, you can enjoy a stay as if you were in your own private villa. It is also conveniently located within a 5-minute drive of the city centre and restaurants. ⸻ Self check-in / check-out (completely contactless) • Check-in: 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM The front door will be unlocked at 3 pm, the check-in time, so you can enter as soon as you arrive. Founded in 1957, my grandfather, Eiichi Tanuchi, ran an inn called Aiwasho for the cultural development of Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture. In order to continue to protect its history and traditions, his granddaughter, Kiushuko, reopened the inn under its original name in 2021. Built on the site of Ueno Castle, this inn is a traditional Japanese house with tatami mats on the floor. Please relax in one of the two Japanese-style rooms. The inn is located on a hill overlooking the city of Tanabe, so you can enjoy the morning sun, sunset, and night view. On a calm day, we recommend having tea in a wicker chair on the edge of the hinoki cypress wooden deck, which was made in the image of the moon viewing platform of the Katsura Imperial Villa. The newly installed bath and toilet are spacious and barrier-free, so you can bathe together or use them easily even if you need assistance. We installed popin.aladdin (lighting with projector) in one of the Japanese-style rooms. It projects on the sliding doors You can watch TV, music, movies, etc. Enjoy BGM on YouTube before you go out in the morning. My parents, Kisaku and Shuko Tanai (Japanese), live next to the house, so please let me know if you need anything.

Limited to one group per day, Guest House Agai is convenient for walking the Kumano Kodo and playing in the river. You can experience country life.

Guesthouse Agae is a limited stay for one group that has been renovated from an old private house.The property is in a very convenient location, with the Kumano Kodo and Chikurōji approximately 550 metres away (around a 7-minute walk), and a supermarket (A-COOP), a bus stop (Kodo Aruki no Sato Chikatsuyu), and a restaurant (Tororoya) all within a 1-minute walk. As the owner is a local Kumano Kodo guide, we will do our best to answer any questions you may have about walking the ancient pilgrimage route, provide advice, and offer transport if needed.We can also provide a personal guide, so please feel free to enquire. "Genki House", a house near Kumano Hongu-Taisha

It’s a house 8km from the Hongu Taisha. (about 15 minutes' drive) If you have a car it's more convenient, but if not I'll be happy to drive you to and from a bus stop or a tourism spot in Hongu area. My family run an organic farm, bakery, NPO offering long-stay for the youth, and an alternative school for children nearby. You'll have some loaves of bread from our bakery(^^)/ （If you don't eat bread please let me know beforehand)

Ocean View Retreat in a Quiet Fishing Village

This is a private, whole-house guesthouse located in the quiet fishing village of Nigishima, Kumano City, Mie Prefecture. On the way to Nigishima, you’ll be greeted by the deep blue ocean known as “Kumano Blue,” and the house sits overlooking the calm waters of Nigishima Bay. To reach the house, you will need to climb approximately 50 steps (about a 5-minute walk), but a beautiful view and peaceful atmosphere await you at the top.
