“This is an adorable place to stay. The apartment is separate and cozy. There is a nice, private outdoor sitting area. There are three bedrooms, not extremely private but enough room to have up to 6 in the party. The kitchen has a Keurig for your convenience. The owners are wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay.”
The Herman Cook House was built in 1913 and is listed on The National Registry Of Historic Places. The house is approximately 4 blocks from down town Houma.Down town offers restaurants, music, holiday festivals, and shopping and let’s not forget our biggest attraction which is Mardi Gras. The parades pass in front of the Cook House. There are approximately 7 parades over a 12 day period. We look forward to making our guest stay enjoyable at the Herman A Cook House.
“This place is amazing! The house is beautiful, comfortable and spacious. It's like stepping back in time with all the modern conveniences. The hosts were gracious and helpful. We were here for Mardi Gras and now we can never experience parades any other way. They go right by the house which makes it so much fun. After they parades were over, the neighborhood quiets down so sleeping is no issue. The beds are comfortable and everything is clean. If you are in Houma, this is the place to stay. In fact, we've already booked for next year.”

“Jan’s place far exceeded our expectations. It is as pictured and more and I have already recommended her space to family. Jan was a great host and communicated when needed. She was kind enough to spend time discussing the history of the building and her restoration process. The living space along with the seating and beds were comfortable and the space was impeccably clean and stylish.”
