“Edmundo’s place is beautiful and accurate as described. It was truly like being in paradise.! The grounds are meticulously cared for and pristine. The Sonos sound system was awesome and easy to use. The beach is beautiful but rocky so bring water shoes. There are lots of small fish to see from the dock but we did not catch any big fish off dock or in kayaks when we went out farther in the ocean. Also, the snorkeling was not great...unless you plan to go around 7am...once breeze picks up its too cloudy to see. There is an awesome snorkeling place an hour away. We visited from the U.S. and speak no Spanish. Here are Some tips that might help your stay: 1) there are 2 bedrooms. One with a queen bed, one with bunk beds and a queen. The living room has a futon. We camped outside on the beach in our tent with his permission and it was amazing! 2) Bring your own toilet paper supplies and hand soap etc... 3) Google translate was a life saver. Make sure to download off line version so you can use without WiFi. It’s not perfect but if you keep your words simple and short it gets the main points across. 4) The drive from Santo Domingo is about 2 1/2-3 hours depending on traffic. Euri the chauffeur picked us up and drove our rental vehicle. Be prepared to experience the craziest driving we have ever seen. Euri was a great driver but other vehicles and motorcycles just do what they want. Also, be prepared to see a lot of poverty and garbage every where. Edmundo’s place is truly a gem of serenity and cleanliness. We hope others will imitate his loving care for the earth. 5) Have a meal plan and Stop in Bani at the market. It’s about 45 mins to an hour from the house. Plan your menu for at least the first couple of days. Dora is an amazing cook!!! We chose DR recipes online and she made all of them. She put the food list together and Euri took us to Bani where she did all shopping and we bought enough food to last the next 5 days. Sancocho is a custom dish and it was amazing!!! Along with her fish tacos, civieche, chicken with beans and fried plantains and fish with coconut sauce. The market has wine, beer, liquor and just about any food item you need...even some clothing items, money exchange and food court area for quick bite if needed. Euri was awesome and guided us through the store. 6) Buy ice in Hatillo which is small town just minutes from house. You will find the coolers provided keep your drinks colder than the fridge. 7) Euri will take you snorkeling about an hour away at Playa El Derrumbao. We saw thousands of fish. Pack a lunch and stay for few hours. It is about a 20 minute walk from the Salt mines. Euri has connections to a boat and motorcycle if you prefer to pay instead of walking. 8) The winery is beautiful. You must have reservations. We just went for a meal and ordered wine since the tasting was $50 US dollars but included appetizers, 4 glasses wine and use of pool. It’s about 12 minutes from the house. 9) Be prepared to tip in pesos. The majority of people make an average of $175 - 200 US dollars a month. They need tips! The food cost was about same as US so it is so hard for them to buy food to feed their families. Tipping was one thing that was hard for us as we did know what to tip or when to tip. There are about 6 employees total that we could gather. gardeners, housekeeper/cook, chauffeur and tour guide. We tipped them at the end of the day. We did feel that a few wanted pesos for every small thing they helped with. We are not rich a Americans by any means but we wanted to be fair. We tipped on average $400-1000 pesos to Dora and Euri as they helped us most. But we did tip other workers as well. The gardeners would clean pool and cut Fresh coconuts for water and start the beach fire. They also made sure our items did not blow away when wind picked up. It was a truly fun and relaxing experience once we arrived to the house. We would recommend this home to all our friends.”
Se trata de un apartamento muy bien situado, junto a la carretera principal que va a Santo Domingo, en un lugar seguro y bien comunicado, cerca de la playa, piscina y centro de la ciudad de Baní. Aparcamiento privado gratuito
“Very nice and friendly people!! Santa Juliana and her mother are very kind and helpful! Her Mother also gave us a bag full of fresh Mangos! That was so cute, and they always made sure that everything is ok! I would book it again if I'm staying in Baní again!”
Enjoy our warm, modern-luxury and perfect to relax villa, which is 5 steps away to the oceanfront to the best beach area. It is only a 7 minute drive to town where you can find different facilities such as bodegas. The entire villa is equipped with air conditioner, patio and free wifi.
“The property cannot be better located, the sea bathes its feet, the bay of Ocoa surrounds it and the mountains frame the calm sea. An ideal picture to spend calm days. You can enjoy the sunset on the large and comfortable terrace with a snack, sleep with the sound of the waves and wake up with the singing of the birds. The house is very well equipped and decorated, and if you play the piano you can make use of what is available. The staff in charge is very attentive and the owner is always available to respond to requests or recommendations. A corner to keep in mind to visit this beautiful Dominican region.”
