Fully self contained private studio room with kitchenette and shower toilet , easy walking distance from town centre and access to south downs national park. New Haven ferry 25 mins.
“Caroline is the consummate host, and she’s thought of everything to make her studio room perfect. She very kindly accommodated my changing plans and was always available to answer my questions. The studio is light, airy, modern, clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The kitchen has everything needed, including an induction hob and oven/microwave combo. The only thing lacking is a freezer compartment in the mini fridge, but the trade-off there is that the fridge is absolutely silent with no annoying compressor noises. There’s a slight privacy issue with the foot traffic just outside the main window, but I found it manageable. There’s easy access both to challenging hill walks and level riverside walks, as well as historic attractions and plenty of shops, both chain and independent. There’s bus service nearby if you need to leave town, but the center of Lewes itself is just a short walk away. I would have been happy to have stayed longer if the studio hadn't been, unsurprisingly, fully booked after me. Highly recommended for a stay of any length.”
Away from the main house, it's a comfortable, compact and entirely private en-suite annex room for a single person, cosy & warm in winter, light & airy in summer. Ideal for work or business related visits, keen walkers, surfers, cyclists etc.. Tea/coffee/biscuits, cereals, muesli, fruit basket and more, all checked & replenished daily. Crockery/cutlery, kettle, toaster, small fridge, reading matter, TV, wi-fi, small iron & tabletop ironing board. Complimentary wine on arrival.
“Lovely, quiet space - ideal for one. Lots of little extras which really help you feel at home such a breakfast and fresh fruit. Very welcoming and helpful. Mobile phone reception a bit hit and miss which isn’t unusual for this part of Devon. Would happily stay and again and would recommend to others.”
Our unique Ecopod was handcrafted in Wales, it is beautifully insulated with sheep wool and has a lovely smell of wood. The large double glazing doors allow you to make the most of sunlight, you are in the sunniest spot of the garden! The village has everything you need, four independent coffee shops, one bakery and two supermarkets. Further down you have the beautiful Hurstpierpoint, Ditchiling and Lewes, if you fancy more action, Brighton is 10 minutes away. FULLY HEATED for colder days.
“I had absolutely fantastic two weeks in the pod. The interior is lovely made and extremely cosy. Also, really clean. And there is plenty of private, comfortable space around the pod. There are some really beautiful walking paths a couple of minutes walk. And Erica is a wonderful, kind and hospitable host. Having her and her family close by adds to a very good energy of this place.”
