This listing is not for everyone, but perfect for some, please read the details about the space before booking. This listing is all about the site and the view, not the bus. The bus is old, the door doesn't fully close, theres no electric/ac, just a table, desk and a mattress. It's really just there for added privacy/shelter. Its private, there's a fire-pit and a picnic table. You can use the bathroom/shower/wifi after a short walk down to the main house here at the music/arts retreat.
“This place was truly magical! I appreciate the honest description, and I found the bus to be very charming and the views unbelievable! Spectacular for the price. Even in April it still gets very cold at night, so be sure to bring many blankets. Jared even offered me one of his cabins since it was cold. Very kind and friendly hospitality, and highly recommend this hidden gem.”
If you're looking for a quiet, secluded retreat in the beautiful mountains of WNC, this is the spot! Our cabin is rustic, retro, and romantic. It provides ample river/creek views, immediate access to hiking trails, and is located only 20 minutes from downtown Asheville, zip lining, rafting, skiing, and much more. Plus it's only a few minutes to the quaint downtown of Mars Hill. We happily welcome folks of all backgrounds and identities in our space. No added cleaning/platform maintenance fees!
“The cabin was clean and cute. We really appreciated the light up sign welcoming us by name, that was an extra touch that was fun and unexpected. As for the stay, it was quiet, peaceful, and comfortable. We live in the city, so getting away for our anniversary was needed. The kitchen has a lot of the main things you need to cook food, which was a big plus for us, with dietary restrictions. There is a path around their property that was wonderful to walk. We didn't get to build a fire outside but there was a place to do so and we decided we'll have to come back to do it another time!”
This 1890 Victorian Farmhouse has much to offer. The heart pine floors, period crown molding, and 3 fireplace hearths will remind you of earlier days. Details such as the engraved brass door knobs, original stained glass, and period fixtures help maintain the character of the home. Many nearby stores and restaurants and a short drive to many outdoor activities and sites such as ski resorts, National and State parks and other places of interest.
“Jack and Debby were absolutely wonderful hosts! They greeted us warmly upon our arrival, showing us the amenities and our room, which were BEAUTIFUL! The room was gorgeous with lots of windows and cozy furniture and blankets. We had our own private bathroom with a lovely heater outside the bath/shower. They provided us with a keurig in the room, as well as fresh coffee in the kitchen in the morning. Jack and Debby were kind enough to provide us with a homemade breakfast of eggs, bacon, bagels, and coffee in the morning, which we got to enjoy with them in their dining room in the morning. They have two super friendly, adorable dogs, and they got along great with our dog! We got an extra treat when we got to meet their 5 week old puppies! So lucky timing there :) We had a wonderful stay, and I highly recommend them to anyone staying in the area! They truly make you feel welcome. Thanks, Jack and Debby!”
