If you choose to stay here, you're not just booking a homestay you’re stepping into a beautiful chapter of Meghalaya’s living history. The property is built beneath the GG Swell Museum, and learning about his pivotal role in the region’s past added so much meaning to our visit. What makes it even more special is that the next generation of GG Swell’s family is lovingly preserving this legacy while managing the stay. Thank you, Yassian we wish we had a chance to meet you in person! As for the stay itself, it’s like being in a jungle paradise. You’re surrounded by nature, and while the insects are real (keep those doors sealed!), you're also guaranteed one of the most peaceful sleeps you'll ever have. Bakor handled all the stay logistics smoothly, and Memory well, she truly lives up to her name, leaving us with memories we’ll cherish. Highly recommended for anyone visiting!

I had a memorable stay at Emily and Sankrita's place. The place is a luxury given that it is located in a village and has every amenities one can look for in this budget. Sankrita is the sweetest host I have ever met. She and her team went out of their way to make my stay comfortable, always ready to respond to every demand. Sankrita also took me to nearby places of interest and cooked awesome food. The location is a bit remote, and the roads not so good. but it is totally worth it because of the genuine and kind hospitality of the host and the arrangements. Emily took care of all the initial communications. It was my "home" away from home, for those days and Sankrita made it possible. 💕 I cannot thank her enough for everything.

Good place for a short stay. Everything looks like the pics, it was spick and span, heater and geyser are available, there is a restaurant opposite. The kitchen is well appointed. Only drawback for me was the height of the bedroom ceiling upstairs. The low ceiling made sitting up in bed impossible,also had to bend down just to get onto the upper level. Batista is very helpful and recommended a great driver as well.He was also helpful in making guide arrangements for Mawphlang sacred grove and the David Scott trail. Be aware that Mawphlang in general seems very cold compared to the rest of Meghalaya, in my experience, as we visited Shillong,Sohra,Shnongpdeng etc all of which were much warmer. It was 7 degrees at night in Mawphlang and we visited in March,which I think is summer for Meghalaya.We struggled with the cold and were thankful we were there only for a night.

We had an amazing stay! The place offered a wonderful view. We had an extra guest with us, and the host was very accommodating, ensuring everyone was comfortable. The host was incredibly friendly and provided excellent guidance on local attractions. During our stay, it was quite cold, and they promptly provided a heater, which was really helpful. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, adding to the overall comfort of our stay.

Great host. It was raining heavily with thunderstorms when we reached her place. She was extremely hospitable. The caretaker is a sweet boy and responded to all our concerns instantly. We enjoyed our brief stay at her place with delicious food and cosy vibes.
