Treehouse close to the Anglesey Coast

In the depths of North-west Anglesey and close to the and coastal paths sits a quirky Treehouse. Tucked away a mile off the main road the little nest sits around a tree which grows inside the space. It shares its home with the owners as it sits in a corner of their garden. With peacocks (very early hooting during Spring), owls, a woodpecker, cats and dogs, there is plenty of amusement. The stars shine brightly, the surroundings are wild and not manicured but it is a haven for wildlife and birds

We would be a super base for those visiting Anglesey Circuit at Tŷ Croes as we have plenty of parking space for car trailers. All about Rhosneigr

Twenty minutes from the port at Holyhead connecting Wales to Ireland, Rhosneigr has long been a popular spot for committed beach lovers. The village has three of them. To the west is Traeth Crigyll, a long, sandy stretch beloved by windsurfers, canoeists, and surfers in good weather. It also has a stream running into the sea that kids love to play in, and rockpools closer to the village for them to explore. Traeth Llydan to the east is slightly smaller, but often still busy with watersports fans. Rolling dunes and rocky outcrops give this part of the village a gentler character. Pwll Coch, also known as the Boating Pool, is a tiny, sheltered bay between the other two, where yachts and boats moor overnight.

The strip of shops on Station Road, near Traeth Crigyll, is painted in bright colours. You’ll find fish and chips, crepes, pizzas, and seafood for takeaway here, as well as surf shops and convenience stores. Rhosneigr is also very near other beautiful beaches such as the quiet Aberffraw and Traeth Llanddwyn on the edges of the luscious Newborough Forest.

What are the top things to do in Rhosneigr?

Llyn Maelog

A gorgeous lake spanning 36 hectares, Llyn Maelog is easily accessible by footpaths to the east of Rhosneigr, with a public footpath circling most of its reedbed-filled waters. Coots and golden plovers come here in winter, while reed warblers are tuneful visitors through the summer.

The Anglesey Coastal Path from Rhosneigr to Aberffraw

This is one of the best stretches of the coastal path, tracing the southern edge of Anglesey as you move towards the mainland, with the peaks of Snowdonia looming handsomely in the distance. Don’t miss the Neolithic burial chamber just outside the village, the stunning tiny coves at Porth Trefin and Porth Trecastell, and the 12th-century St Cwyfan’s Church, on Cribinau, a tiny, tidal island three miles from your destination.

Holy Island

Connected to Anglesey by the North Wales Expressway, the 15 square miles of Holy Island are only 10 minutes from Rhosneigr. Best-known for its sea connections at Holyhead, there are fantastic bays and restaurants here too, as well as lots of Neolithic ruins, standing stones and burial chambers, and a gorgeous lighthouse at South Stack, with an exhibition open to visitors in the summer.
