Hi, my name is Mary and I'm new to Airbnb, as I have been using (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)nce 2010. Please check my guest reviews there. I am very excited to now be a part of the airbnb community!! I live in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina, just 6 miles from Banner Elk stoplight. A place I dearly love and I love to share with others.
I love the very things that I have surrounded myself with. I think that's what living is truly about.
I love the Appalachian Trail, the Elk River Falls, the Pisgah National Forest, driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway between Grandfather and Blowing Rock. Admiring the beauty, art and complexities of the parkway Via-Duct. Did I mention the NC Grandfather Mountain State Park or the TN Roan Mountain State Park. I love being surrounded by 2 National Forests, having 2 State Parks within 10 miles, and knowing our many conservancies help protect our history as well as our future. Yet, with all the natural beauty, I love being 7 miles or less from 4 towns and 2 states. Being minutes from dining and shopping and having our own local college and theatre and biking teams. It's great to be less than an hour from Asheville, Johnson City, Kingsport and 4 Universities all within 3 states. To have the diversity and the life within Boone. To go the quick way or by way of the scenic byway.
I love the many trails, the massive waterfalls, the vast beauty of the national forests surrounding us. My favorite place to feel alive or just at peace are our many rivers. Sitting by a stream, swimming under a falls, fishing the Elk River and rafting the Watauga and Toe Rivers. From the famous wineries, a great local brew at a community pub, the choice of fast food to five star dining. It's a special place and a special lifestyle. Enjoying every minute of summer with cool breezes and family grown foods and family fun. The kids swim, zipline, go horseback riding, rock climb, visit Tweetsie and eat more stone fired pizza than imaginable. In the winter months, many love the ski slopes. I love the love! But personally; I enjoy the numerous snowfalls, the warm fire and soft blanket to cuddle as I hear and watch the trees blowing briskly in the winter winds while I follow my first love--writing!
