It's really a wonderfull place. A warm wooden fully equiped chalet surrounded by a lovely garden. The terasse is equiped by a scenic barbecue and a little outside kitchen. We were very warm welcomed (wine and fresh flowers). Antonia is very accommodating and kind. The swimming pool is very pleasant even if it was a bit dirty. Please note there is no internet and no network neither. It's perfect if you want to feel completly disconnected. Highly recommanded !

Once you get into the house, everything is as described and even better, and for the facilities I recommend it wholeheartedly: well equipped kitchens inside and outside, clean, a lot of space, plenty of towels and lovely outside areas. We however did not reach Antonia Maria on the day of arrival at all, which led to some driving back and forth between her restaurant in the Puntagorda village and the house. We eventually learned she had forgotten her phone, which is very human but maybe not something you would hope for as a guest in a village with relatively small distances. Once we found eachother everything ran smoothly. The location is great for hiking and relaxing.

Casa de Madera was an excellent base to explore the quieter northwest side of La Palma. The house itself is lovely and was immaculately clean for our stay. It has a large, fully equipped outdoor cooking area (in addition to an indoor kitchen) with gas hobs and a barbecue/fire, which my wife and I used every night of our stay in March, to cook and eat under the stars. There is also an outside swimming pool with sun loungers which was a great spot to relax with a book and watch the sun go down. It was just about warm enough for me to have a swim too, though others might have found the water a bit cold at that time of year! There are some nice walks in the area and it is also a very convenient location if you are planning to visit Roque de los Muchachos (the highest point on the island) and do some hiking around the rim of the Caldera de Taburiente. The only minor point to be aware of is that the Casa is located on the LP-1 road so there is some noise from traffic during the day. We did not really notice this at night or in the early morning however. Just to note also that we had to collect the keys from Antonia's restaurant Pino de la Virgen, in Puntagorda itself, which we were not aware of before arrival. It would probably be worth double checking this will be the case with the host prior to your stay.

This wooden house has a fantastic view on the branch and the sea. There is also a beautiful garden and a swimming pool. Walking possibilities are wonderful. Bus stop nearby as well as the center of Puntagorda. For wintertime you have to realise, it's a bit cold because on 700m height.

Very nice house with tiny swimming pool to cool down. Clean and tidy. Spectacular sunset views from terras overlooking hills and the sea........ Flowers, fruit, wine and almond biscuits make you feel welcome and at home here. Good place to start hikes in Garafia area: from Las Tricias to Buracas, surroundings of la Zarza. Antonia Maria is a warm host and also runs a lovely restaurant in the village.
