About this listing

TINAROO HAVEN is located on Atherton Tableland, with beautiful Lake Tinaroo within 15 minutes walking distance. Enjoy the modern cottage in its natural bushland setting, delight in the abundant wildlife, or go kayaking or explore the attractions of the area.
Tinaroo Haven is B&B council approved.

The space

The Tinaroo Haven cottage and my home, 'Asgard', to which it is connected by a 5 meter timber walkway, were both built by the well known pole house builder, Jon Nott. I fell in love with them at first sight! Unusual, well designed, built from local timber, with ample decks for outside living, they sit privately and peacefully in the middle of my bush block. This adjoins more bushland leading to an arm of Lake Tinaroo.

Guest access

You will have the cottage and its wide north-facing front veranda to yourself. There is a garden with birdbaths and feeders, and level parking for your car and boat- and you can borrow my kayaks.
The spacious bedroom has a king size double bed, that can be split into two singles; all bedclothes are cotton.
The bathroom has twin showers and a large spa. Bathrobes are supplied.
Separate toilet.
Separate laundry.
A luxurious and well-appointed kitchen of the open living-dining area, and a separate study with bed complete the layout. Radio/CD player, books games and tourist info provided. There are security/insect screens and blinds on all windows and doors.

Interaction with guests

The degree of privacy is totally your choice; I have a separate downstairs entry to my home so the linking 5 metre walkway will not be used. I am more than happy to be as helpful as you need while respecting your privacy. You need only ask if you would like me to ferry the kayaks to and from the lake for you.
I will provide a breakfast hamper, fruits, tea and coffee.

Other things to note

The cottage is wheelchair accessible, with an external ramp; adjustable shower and toilet chairs can be provided. The whole cottage is tiled.
Only Telstra mobile coverage.
Tinaroo Haven is resident owner operated, is council-approved B&B and is fully insured.

We were pleasantly surprised by all the little extras in the fridge and pantry. Inge's knowledge of the area and advice on where to go what to do was very welcome. The birds and wallabies were amazing. Everything was just as described. We had lovely relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Simply excellent. The cottage is beautiful, spacious and very well equipped - large comfortable bed, top notch kitchen and lovely outdoor sitting area where one can watch birds and kangaroos. Inge is such a thoughtful and generous host. It made a huge difference to arrive at a wonderful cottage stocked with food after flying for 7 hrs and driving for 1.5 hours. We are Airbnb veterans and you cannot find a lovelier holiday cottage and kinder host.

We loved this place! Inge is a welcoming and thoughtful host who provided generous breakfast and pantry provisions. The bed was superbly comfortable, the kitchen well equipped. We really enjoyed the tranquillity, the wildlife and being cosy at night with the wood-burning stove. HIghly recommended!

We had a lovely stay. It’s a great house with a well equiped kitchen and beautiful outdoor area. The bed is really comfortable too. There is plenty of wildlife including birds, pademelons (which can be hand fed!) plus kangaroos. The Tinaroo area is very serene and scenic and the lake is great to walk around. We also enjoyed the challenging walk up Mount Baldy in Atherton, a short drive away. Inge is a lovely host who is very welcoming providing very generous breakfast supplies. She can also offer a lot of helpful advice to get the most out of your stay. Two thumbs up!

I am a retired nurse and antiques dealer, and mother of three grown sons. Born in Denmark, I migrated to Australia as an adult and I love the Australian landscape, its bush and its wildlife-which is why I love living here! I moved to Tinaroo in 2015 and look forward to exploring the amazingly diverse Atherton Tableland.
